I put up for the night of April 12, 2016 in Room 203 in Hotel Lamunu. The hotel is situated in the centre of Johannesburg, with easy access to the Johannesburg theatre, park station and Constitution hill. It is predominantly surrounded by student residences, and there is a huge screen next to the hotel entrance with a sunken ampitheatre-like seating...

Dear Mr. Dave Hackney Congratulations on some improvements since under new management. An earlier review wrote about the flat pillows and toilet with no door. I also think that a simple small cupboard can replace the garish hooks for clothes. Some guests like myself need to work at night in our rooms - so a decent desk and chair will...

I stayed here for one night. Hotel Lamunu was the first and the only hotel for my whole trip in SA. The rest of the trip I prefer to stay in guesthouses as this type of accommodation appears to be the most popular of this country. Hotel Lamunu was the colorful hotel at the centre of Jozi. The area was...

Dear Natthan C Thank you for taking the time to send your review to TripAdvisor. I'm a bit upset with my Receptionist for advising you not to walk around after 16h00. The area outside the hotel in the Grove and towards De Beer street comes alive in the evenings especially from Thursday onward.Nevertheless I am glad to hear you managed...

the hotel is situated is a really noisy area. The rooms are very basic (no mini bar, and a really small bed) There is a air circulation system that is always on and makes a lot of noise. Perfect hotel for a one night stay to go to the airport but don't stay there any longer !

Really well run small hotel in the centre of Braamtontein. Stylish modern rooms are amazingly quiet for the ultra urban location. Very friendly helpful staff and manager help you to find the adjacent cool boutiques, bars and restaurants. Excellent value for money .
