We stayed a splendid one week holiday at Hilton Nubian Hotel at Marsa Alam. Abu Dabbab beach was fabulous, one of the best, that we have seen in Egypt, specially the colorful coral reefs & fish. Also, the food quality & choices at the hotel's main restaurant, oriental restaurant, & beach bar were excellent. We would like to thank several employees at the Hilton Nubian Hotel, Marsa Alam, that made our stay & holiday exceptional. We start with Mohamed Youssef from housekeeping who made our room spotless & nicely decorated it. Special thanks to housekeeping supervisor Ayman Fakry, who attended to our requests. Many thanks to Mohamed Haggag & Kholoud Omar waiters at the main restaurant who were very efficient in serving us, as well as, other clients, always with a smile. Finally, we would like to thank a lot both Christina & Juliana, guest relations officers, who dealt effectively with some of the issues we faced in the first day in our room. Both are very pleasant, caring, and went to the extra mile to keep clients happy and comfortable. They also informed us about the best places & attractions to visit in Marsa Alam. They have definitely made our visit to Marsa Alam a memorial one & are a real asset to the hotel. Dr. Shahira Abdel Shahid & Niveen Abdel Shahid

Booked as Hilton Honors Reward stay (therefore not through a travel agency or last minute shop). First thing I noticed when entering the lobby (check-in area): There's a "facemask required" rule in place but most guest ignored it. And staff didn't feel obliged to enforce it. Dedicated counter for Hilton Honors was unmanned, every staff member was busy with 20+ russian speaking guests to sort out whatever. After check in: Room was not the most modern but very well maintained and spotless. Resort comes as "all inclusive" with a main restaurant (buffet) and some so-called "à la carte" options. Again: face masks (and hand sanitizers) being ignored by most of the guests and partly also by staff. I expected that the all-in buffet stuff most probably wouldn't be my cup of tea so I directly went for the "pay additionally for dedicated à la carte items" (like lobster thermidor). What a disappointment. Let's sum it up: The chefs might entertain the standard all-inclusive tourist who book last minute, but the whole resort is certainly not up to Hilton standard. Even if you're willing to pay on top, they either don't have it at all (e.g. real champagne) or the quality is bad. I had lengthy talks with the hotel manager as well as the food & beverage manager. This gave me some insights but didn't improve the overall situation. What might explain the situation: Most hotels in Egypt have filled their rooms -at least in December 2021- with very cheap last-minute offers from eastern europe and the extended russian circle (former soviet republics). What to expect if you put guests with an average 3* experience into a theoretically 5* environment? However, the location is pretty nice. Several pools within the resort and also a decent beach slot with plenty of loungers. But remember that you'll have to walk a bit on the beach to be allowed to enter the ocean! My summary: I'd do Marsa Alam again, but in a different And I'm still waiting (2 months along the road) for my receipt through official Hilton channels and the respective reward points for my additionally paid items.
