This is an ideal place to come if you're after a no-frills, but fully functional dive centre. There are very few places like this offering crowd free, unlimited diving off the beach with easy entry and exit. There is a free rib service if you want to go out a little further and can be either or both ways (out...

I have just returned from a week at Marsa Nakari with Oxford Dive Centre. I stayed in an air conditioned chalet which was very clean and comfortable. The choice of food is very good and the staff cannot do enough for you. The place is so relaxing it is just wow. Then came the diving.... amazing house reefs, turtles, corals,...

Dear Uherek, Thank you so much for taking time to write such an extensive review about Marsa Nakari. Nakari is often forgotten about but really has a lot to offer - the speedboat dives that you mentioned are really high quality. Particular favourites of mine are Habili El Ghadeer and Habili Nakari, while the house reef as you mentioned always...

Just returned from a week at Nakari, first visit, not sure what to expect. Had a fantastic week, very relaxed easy diving on a lovely house reef. All the staff were attentive, helpful, and friendly. Stayed in an air-conditioned chalet that was spotless, food very good. I am a vegetarian, and there was also plenty of choice. Will be back...

We stayed in a chalet with fan (no a/c) in September and it was perfect for us - clean, comfortable with a cooling breeze at night, very close to the diving centre and all the facilities, and a great sea view from the terrace. The staff are all very helpful and friendly making for a great 'team' atmosphere. Great shore...

The place was great... You can choose to stay in air conditioned chalets, other chalets with no AC (NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL) or in Royal Tents (Room for 3 with a fan, mini fridge) or a normal tent for 2 with no fan (DO NOT CHOOSE THIS in the summer - June - September). However the service was so bad......

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Marsa Nakari is a charming sea-side lodge approximately 20 km south of Marsa Alam city. Its main appeal is its proximity to the Sammadai protectorate (Dolphin House); one of the Red Sea’s most important national parks and attraction. There are various other highlights including Wadi el Gemal national park, desert trips, cultural encounters, historic sites, Luxor, daily boat, and much more. Marsa Nakari is also a historical site dating back to the Roman times and known to the ancients as the port of Nechesia. The remains of its ruin are still present atop a hill towards the southern end of the bay. Marsa Nakari is the dream holiday for those seeking to experience Marsa Alam’s true heritage. Expect the silence and serenity of the desert atmosphere and the world-renowned beauty of the red sea reefs. Our villages are small because we maintain a minimal impact policy towards the environment. Our accommodations consist of standard tents, luxurious royal tents, huts, or deluxe chalets. Natures beautiful simplicity permeates our village theme and our tourism model will give you a new appreciation for the serenity and simplicity of Marsa Alam's pristine environment. ... more   less
