This place is at the foot of the Matanuska Glacier, with great views. The staff, Cleo and Jamie were charming and make a delicious breakfast. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with their own jetted tubs and showers. The house is cozy and well-appointed. Be ready for lots of colorful and fun decor! If you are going to the glacier,...

What a great experience and lovely place. A very romantic getaway for a couple. Great amenities, beautiful home, great hosts. I would highly recommend this place. We loved the spacious hot tub which allowed us to play our own music while the sun was setting. Breakfast was delicious.

Beautiful lodge, sweet and helpful hostesses, comfortable rooms and the views are unbeatable. The decor is very eclectic and there is something there for everyone. Stayed in the Matanuska room. Fireplace, door opens up right to the balcony. Huge jetted tub and a fabulous shower. Breakfast was wonderful. Looking forward to staying at the lodge again this summer.

We decided to stay one night just to take a break and it is such a wonderful place to relax. You can see the matanuska glacier from some of the rooms and the house is large and cozy. Plenty of coffee and snacks and very comfortable ample rooms. Some even have their own fireplace. I would definitely stay here again.

I know it's not Iowa, but this property is as close to heaven as you will find in Alaska. Absolutely amazing, luxury lodging in the middle of some of the most scenic country in the world. Oh, and did I mention breakfast? Another heavenly feature of this lodge is the gourmet breakfast (do you like king crab in your scrambled...

This was by far the best place we stayed in Alaska. Beautiful log home with lots of amenities. Great hot tub with a view of the mountains and a lake. Huge room with a very large bathroom. Fantastic breakfasts and great hosts. A 5 minute drive to the glacier.

If you want to stay near the Matanuska glacier, your choices are fairly limited. I made reservations several months in advance. As I was not sent a confirmation email, I called to confirm and ask for recommendations on a glacier tour guide. I forgot about the significant time difference from ET, and called very early one morning. Evidently, the lodge...

Stayed one night on the way from Anchorage to Wragell/St. Elias. Conveniently located off the Glenn Highway, the first thing you se e when you come up the drive way is a magnificent log lodge. After a warm welcome we were shown our room and taken onto the large balcony that the room opens to. Standing less that n100 feat...

This was easily our best lodging experience in Alaska during our 19 day visit. The whole Lodge is truly stunning. We stayed for two days and the wife and daughters would have liked to have stayed longer even though there is relatively nothing else in the area. We did a hike on the Matanuska Glacier but were happy relaxing at...
