My wife and I stayed here in Late September 2023. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the décor was very pleasing. But that’s to be expected. What really impressed us were the staff, giving service that was exemplary. When my wife lost her phone, not only did the staff call the places we had been, but one of them drove to all those places while we waited and physically checked for us! Also, fishing off the private balcony in our room during high tide at 2 AM with the mini rods we brought with us and then BBQing our catch on the main deck was so cool! The staff were genuinely friendly, from pickup from the airport to our final checkout. We have been to a lot of places around the world, but the genuineness of the staff was above and beyond what we expected. If I could give 6 stars I would.…

Excellent small historic property in Colonia, Yap. Rooms are beautifully appointed with luxurious beds and private Seaview balconies. Short walking distance to restaurants and shops and very friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary airport pick up and drop off also a nice touch. Highly recommended for a stay in Yap.

I stayed at O’Keefe’s for an extended period of time and I can honestly say it was the best experience I had. The staff and owners Leo and Richard went above and beyond to make sure that my need were met for my extended stay. Working for a long time away from home can be a bit challenging, but my stay at O’Keefe’s was like a second home. Always a friends face and solution to anything I needed help with. 10/10 would recommend anyone stay there again.

Awesome hotel, very rustic, but very comforting. Each room has a private balcony on the water! Staff goes above and beyond to assist with anything you need to include services outside of the hotel. I will be coming back next time I’m in Yap. Drinks at the bar are very good and the best prices in the area. Try a “Yap Slap” it’s great. Also staff hosted an amazing bbq for us when we left. The Ribs were cooked to perfection! 10-10 would definitely recommend in you’re looking for a place to stay in Yap.

I had an amazing stay at O'Keefe's Waterfront Inn this past December. During my time there, the staff was attentive and went out of their way to welcome me into the beautiful, homey space that they created. Every morning I would make a cup of coffee and sit and watch the bay from the porch connected to my room. The room itself was clean, comfortable and had everything I could want- there was even a smart TV so at night I could stream U.S. news. Another plus is that you are right in Colonia, so you are within walking distance of multiple food options and different stores. If there is one word I would use to describe O'Keefe's atmosphere it would be peaceful. I was truly sad to leave such an awesome place but I am looking forward to returning in the future for another great stay!

Probably the least known of the few hotels on Yap, this is a true gem. Back a bit from the main road but conveniently downtown and the rooms have splendid view of the water with small porch in each room extending over it. Staff is as or more friendly than any other within Yap or the FSM as a whole. I knew travel into Yap was still complicated owing to United Airline schedule adjustments. The Inn staff explained the option for -and helped me purchase and confirm- a flight from PALAU, through a quaint and earnest missionary airline called "PMA" when flights from Guam were irregular. Really beautiful setting, with wonderful memorabilia and knowledgeable staff.

O'Keefe's is a very special place to stay--a real gem of a hotel in Yap and the whole FSM! A small, cozy inn with all rooms directly overlooking the peaceful waters of the harbour, it is also in the center of Colonia and a few steps from restaurants, shopping, and the grounds of the Yap Living History Museum. But what really stands out is the hotel's character and attention to detail throughout. It is gorgeously designed, full of historical photographs from Yap and the colonial days of David O'Keefe (directly across from the historical O'Keefe's canteen), and with the comforts of the waterfront lounge, outside courtyard, relaxing library, and room balconies on the water. Room are classy, very clean, comfortable, and full of interesting detail. Staff are attentive, friendly, and very helpful for visitors. As a cozy inn, O'Keefe;s offers a personalised and very pleasant experience, with attention to culture and history on Yap that really stands out in the FSM. I had a very peaceful and pleasant stay here for 12 days in September and I'm looking forward to returning.…

I recently had the pleasure of spending three nights here, and I am so glad that I picked O’Keefe’s. What a little gem. If Yap is on your radar then you probably already have a sense of the limited accommodation options one finds on remote Pacific islands. Yap is no different. There are really only a handful of decent options, and after a lot of research I picked this spot. Colonia center is tiny, so the 5 main places to stay are all within walking distance of each other. O’Keefes is full of character, atmosphere and has real charm. Rooms are super comfy and clean. No, they are not massive, but they have all the space you need. They have just 5 rooms, all of which overlook the water. The rooms have all that you need, from wifi and a safe and wonderful a/c to all toiletries and TVs. There is a well stocked bar and the staff can assist with any request. No request was too much. A great breakfast is offered in their cafe/restaurant across the road. For dinner you can walk to all of the other central hotels. If you are here for diving then you are just 20 steps away from Manta Bay without the price tag. So, easy access. You can walk to everything - open air museum, main supermarket and smaller markets, harbour, etc. You do not need a car if you stay here, as they will handle your airport transfers. If you want to take an excursion anywhere then they’ll help out. I really wish that I had been able to stay longer. Stay here and you will have no regrets!…

This charming, beautiful hotel is a true gem. Centrally located with all amenities and access to town, the hotel itself seems to be an oasis of luxury and calm as soon as you set foot inside the lobby. Rooms are thoughtfully appointed and very comfortable, staff are friendly—the entire experience is blissful. I can’t wait to stay there again.

I really enjoyed my stay here from the airport pickup after midnight and porter who carried my bags right into my room and took my breakfast order explaining they would check me in later once I'd had a good rest. The room was brilliant, like the hotel it was full of colonial charm and with well thought out modern updates from the ensuite to the minibar, safe and cable tv all crafted into the woodwork paneling and discretely tucked away behind paintings or wall units. The mini balcony over the water from my room also had a dive locker to dry wet suits all cleverly set up in a cupboard dried by the a/c output fan. A lot of thought has been put into this hotel to maintain its authenthicity while bringing it into the 21st century. The wifi speed was excellent and I had no trouble skyping my family in the Southern hemisphere. This is an old building with wooden floors so be sure to remove your shoes, yes some floorboards creak and there are step changes in the floor from the lobby to the bar and back up to the rooms but these things along with the library all added to the hotel's charm. Note the hotel is small with only a few rooms so is quite quiet, there is no pool or restaurant in the hotel but you just go across the road and can charge your meal to the room (just check with the front desk which restaurant as there are at least three cafe's across the road next to each other). I enjoyed walking from this hotel around town it is quiet and convenient but you will need to hire a vehicle if you want to go outside of Colonia. If you are looking for a good sleep in a quiet hotel then you've found your place.…
