There's no where to hang clothes and towels. We put them on the huge sofa and on the bed thick border. In a beach resort, your room has a private pool and you don't have any hook to hang wet swim suits except bathtub. Have to put shower gel and shampoo bottles on the bathroom floor.
I booked this resort because I like the big room of 120 sq meters and it is cheap. Paid 790,000 Rp per night with set breakfast and for this price, this huge room is a good value. It's a new and clean one bedroom apartment with a kitchen having glasses, bowls, dishes, spoons, forks, etc. In the morning, the staff will go into your room to take them to use for your breakfast. It's so great they let you choose to eat in your room or near Reception or on top floor with a small pool and nice sea view.
During the day, I don't need to use air con when opening the door to the pool and the door to bathroom. There's one sliding door on the back of the sofa, and in the bedroom. Very cool weather.
This is a small resort so the public pool is tiny and no one used it when we were there. Our room has a private pool but water was too cold for me to soak. Could be because it's too windy during the day. It is deep but not large. They turned the pump on when we checked in but the next day they didn't. I prefer it as I don't like the man-made water running sound, waste of energy.
The in room free wifi is slow most of the times. They give a free big water bottle of 1.5 liters.
* Privacy:
If you think of wearing no swim suit in your private pool, it is not the case. This pool has plants on one side facing a little garden to another room, but not enough to cover you. One morning, the Security staff stood next to our room's pool to look to the workers outside, so I noticed there're stairs near the pool and he went in to turn on/off the pump. If he walks to the other side of the pool, he might see you having a shower. Shower room has 2 corner walls but no wall to the pool's side and no wall to the bathtub side. Had many plants but they're not enough to cover you. It's open air. If I hadn't seen the Security staff, I would have been happy with the design. From the pool, you can walk all the way to the shower corner and bathtub.
I just love the glass ceiling at the bathroom where I saw the moon and stars at night. It also means you won't catch the rain in the bathroom. But when having a shower, I don't know if guests from other rooms can see me, as I saw glass walls of other rooms above. I guess those walls cannot be opened.
There were workers next to the resort building new houses/hotels and they stared at us when we ate breakfast on top floor. They talked to one another loudly during the day. I don't mind but if you don't like it, this place is not for you. At least until they finish their construction works.
The room has glass walls all sides with curtains, and one side has no curtain, so the afternoon sun will go into all your stuff. Put them somewhere if they're not to bear sunlight that long. It is good that the room is bright at day time. I like sunlight. Other walls with curtains have a little space between 2 curtains. You might feel people see you in your room. Not that anyone tries looking at you. It was just how I feel.
* Location:
Took us a while to find as many hotels and villas in that Echo Beach location start with "Echo". I love going through rice fields before reaching the resort. It was early Feb and the rice were very green.
The afternoon wind is very strong. I saw foreigners with surf boards and no local tourists. This area seems to be well known for surfing. Didn't see anywhere to eat around the resort. When checking location, seeing many hotels around, I thought it was a downtown resort. It's not but more like in a residential area. That doesn't bother me as I don't like night clubs. With the scooter, we could go out to eat. After passing the rice fields, we saw restaurants on the big streets.
* The staff:
2 Reception ladies are very eager to answer all our questions and they speak English. They recommend us Krisna for souvenir shopping and we love it. Prices are not expensive and there's everything for everyone. But at night there's only one Security male staff and he does not speak English. If you need anything, talk to the ladies during the day.
* Transportation:
Metered taxi to airport was 150,000 Rp. Might be difficult to call a taxi so don't leave it to last minute.
We rent a scooter from them for 60,000 Rp a day to visit Tanah Lot (Temple). The way is easy to ride and with beautiful rice fields also. We went shopping on Sunset Road with this scooter, too.
To say this is luxury accommodation is definitely not accurate.
They had a 2pm check in time but couldn't make that and we had to wait for half an hour for our room to be ready.
the room was nice enough and had good facilities, the giant bath would have been better if there was enough hot water to fill it
the private pool was very cold as it sees no sun.
the main pool was a bit better but not by much.
the area it is located is very smelly,
it is close to lots of nice cafes.

They don’t give you any compensation n don’t care about you unless you need to complain at least 5 times and waste your time, energy, break your mood !
They didnt inform / email us at least few weeks ago if we cant stay until 25th! Imagine looking for an accomodation 2 days before Christmas by yourself in Canggu without any compensation because of their incompetence at handling the reservation ?
1st offer was they offer us a free breakfast, 5$ breakfast? we need a room not a breakfast. 2nd offer was a free taxi to the next hotel, okay how if my next hotel is only 5 steps from here? N they said these re the only things they can help / no proper compensation.
Whats the point i book this place 2 months b4 if they cant accomodate us? Especially the booking is unchangable/ non refundable
There is no Boss/ manager at the property, i tried to ask one of their staff ( Ari) if i can talk to the boss on phone, he doesnt let me n said i cant talk to them but he said they only follow the boss bc the boss who manages everything, n the boss is not here. they really dont let us to talk to the boss/ manager.
Thats so funny how there is no boss/ manager or someone who can solve the problem?
They re also B-A-R-E-L-Y apologize, like it’s okay for them to do it to the guests!
0 professionalism at this accomodation!
They defend themselves, argued with you instead of being helpful and make us feel comfortable as a guest
I traveled to countries in Europe , africa n asia and this kind of problem ever happened but they always find solution/ help me, even it was only 30$ hostel.
Go look another place to stay if you want your stay be with helpful and professional workers.
No AC in the living room, only one mirror in the bathroom, no desk, no hair dryer, n rats noise at night
Upon arrival, there was nobody at reception - just a security guard who, although as helpful as he could be, spoke virtually no English so was not much help to us when we discovered that in fact there was no cot in our suite. Although it wasn't a deal breaker for us, there was no lift up to our room which was on the 4th floor - so all of our luggage, pushchair etc had to be lugged up stairs.
The 'decor' - if you can call it that - in the suite was non existent. The bedroom literally consisted of a double bed positioned smack in the middle of the room (not against any wall)... No bedside tables, no rug/carpet, no lamps, no chairs, nowhere to put anything, paperthin 'blinds'.... Actually - I should correct myself... there WERE 2 bedside cabinets but they were attached to the wall... we could only assume they were some weird 'art installation'. Bizarre to say the least.
The living area was no better - a sofa plonked in the middle of the room, a poor quality plastic table etc.
It took over an hour of various phone calls to the 'manageress' who told us over the phone thata cot could be made available to us in the morning (not exactly of much use to us), and in the end literally demanding a travel cot before one actually arrived in a cardboard box (anyone with a small crying baby, who has just got off a flight and then a car journey through traffic will appreciate how we were feeling...)
However by this time, my husband had gone across the road to look at the Frii Hotel where he discovered that for the same as what we were paying at Echo Beach Resort we could have a nicely designed & decorated family suite - complete with baby cot ready to go. The staff at the Friii Hotel were super friendly, professional etc. The grounds included 2 proper swimming pools, there was a proper restaurant serving breakfast (the Echo Beach Resort has none of this...)
Not only that, but when the manageress at the Echo Beach Resort finally turned up with the cot in the cardboard box, we were advised that it would cost the equivalent of an additional night's stay to have the cot for the 3 nights we were there. At this point, we said we were not wiling to pay the extra (given that there was no indication when we booked that this would be the case, and we had already waited over an hour for it) so the manageress said (to my surprise..) 'if you not want to pay, best you cancel' so we said 'fine, we'll cancel our booking with you & go over the road to the Frii Hotel'. She said this was fine.
We proceeded to have a GREAT stay at the Frii Hotel and a lovely long weekend in Bali. We briefly popped into the Echo Beach Resort on the Saturday morning to confirm that they send an email to Agoda (who we booked through) stating that we had not stayed there, and that we were due a full refund. The 'manageress' smiled sweetly and said that she had already done it.
Fast forward to when we landed back in Singapore & we ask Agoda why we have not received our refund.... Echo Beach Resort had NOT sent them any email, are trying to make us pay for 1 full night and are saying that they had a cot 'on the premises' and hence if we chose to cancel it was our lookout.
We are totally disgusted with the behaviour of this place & do not recommend to anyone else that they stay there, especially when there is a GREAT family friendly hotel literally across the road.
Would not recommend!
I can’t advise strongly enough DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! We are so grateful we didn’t get sick from breathing it in overnight and we hope we can save someone else from getting sick too.
Check in was weird, we were not asked for deposits, nor did they ran through anything with us. We did not even receive wifi options. We weren't inform about breakfast, which we realised it was just pathetic.
The villa just dont make any sense, theres a kitchen on the floor but the stove is not connected to anything. No electric kettle, plates and mugs were not clean thoroughly.
The only saving grace was the living room.
The door to the bedroom block the entrance of the toilet. So 2 doors are always blocking with one of the other entrance, like who designed this? The whole bathtub plus shower was just annoying.
Both living room and bedroom have separate balconies, but since the villa is so cramped with other villas. Theres no privacy and you can hear all the construction going on.
That whole stretch of street is still under development, so its not the best. Its still is 10 mins walk to the beach though. Theres minimart nearby.
We booked this for 2 nights, the day after we checked out and booked another. It was just not worth it.
