so sad to see this wonderful Hotel with hardworking staff located right on brewara beach is now surrounded by club 18-30,poser style beach clubs that start their boom boom noise music at 10am through to 3am weekends which gets so lound in the evenings the windows of the hotel rattle.suspect the hotel will become a part of the beach club next door soon it has no choice. The adverse impact on the enviroment of these beach clubs is devastating some serious Tea mmoney must have been spent. beware not an area for kids the roads are deadly even walking to the shops is lethal.

Stayed in Legong Keraton Beach Hotel from September 6 to October 4 2017. We have been to Bali about 15 times since 1994 and have seen the change on the island. In September it was the first visit in 5 years for me and my wife. Pantai Berawa, next to Pantai Canggu, that before used to be called surfers paradise.
This hotel we visited a couple of times between 2006 and 2009. It was a good, nice hotel with a lovely spacious garden, and next to the sea front. And with kind friendly staff. And it still is.
Could still be felt like a beautiful, relaxing spot.... but there is a new neighbour just next to the hotel. Finns Beach Club, a horrible place. Like a giant open-air disco that spits out most of the daytime and late into the evening/night an incredibly loud sort of House music, the speaker base deafening the ears. Drowning out the sound of the waves just outside. Hords of teenage kids around the awful place that opened around a year ago. Owned by 2 Australian millionaires and 1 Balinese front. Sorry to say but the whole peaceful atmosphere around is getting distroyed at jetspeed. And unfortunately there is nothing the owners or managers of Legong Keraton can do about it.
The Island of Gods - Pulau Dewata - going down. Even here, in a similar way to places like Kuta, Legian and Seminyak, the places that already went this road long before. All the rest of rice fields disappearing, sold out to rich Western or Australian people, and with the help of Balinese that want to get richer fast. And not thinking about the future of their own cildren and grandchildren. A pradise turning to something opposite ..... sad, depressing, yet true. Wake up Bali, before it is totally too late, it's already past twelve.....
But all in all and getting back to the hotel... if not for the disco next to the hotel we would really like to stay at the hotel again.

Just spent 8 nights at the hotel and honestly can't understand what all the negative reviews are all about. The room I stayed was spotless, the hotel gardens were well kept, the restaurant did the job, but the real beauty about this hotel is the great location! I didn't eat much at the hotel opting to go out to many of the other places in the vicinity and there are many within walking distance. Google Finns Beach Club...that's right next door and a great place for sundowners! The picture is from the hotel gardens.

This was once a pretty good place. But I have to have a whinge...
Finns night club has gone up next door. In Bali that is only 8 feet away. It towers above the hotel and the dughf dughf music thumps throughout the day from about 10:00am often until 3:00am the next day. It is so very very loud and there are so many people around.
Also the beach is now full of hawkers and hundreds of people.
Ok now for the hotel: the staff are lovely but service is painfully slow. Order food an hour before you want it (at least). Even boiling water takes over an hour. The rooms don't have a kettle.
The showers are covered in mould and not cleaned well and the drains in the bathrooms stink to high heaven.
The beds are very hard. Too hard for me. I have to sleep on pillows. The white linen and sheets are stained, grey and old.
Every thing is worn and getting old. The outside furniture is old and breaking down. The cushions on the "lie lows" are old and thin (not comfortable).
There are often heaps of dogs around the grounds (which are very lovely and we'll kept)
The pool is nice and deep but I have seen some local workers bathing their kids in it.
We also saw a long thin green snake about 6" from my foot. The staff were worried about the poisonous green snake but the security guy only chased it into the bush on the other side of my chair in the middle of the hotel grounds.
Not sure about staying here anymore.
Don't stay if you like your sleep and don't like booming dance music banging throughout the day and night. It is not quiet and peaceful any more. And you can hear the non stop music from your room. The ground floor rooms are probably better.
You can do a lot better for the same money. It's not good value.
Pictures show "Finns" (with bamboo and rattan) towering above the Legong reception (white rendered walls) and the breakfast alfresco area. Didn't post a picture of the mouldy tiles.

Be aware of the prices they charge. I was originally quoted 1,500,000 at the front desk and then 1,800,000 while online it is much cheaper. Also for $105 I paid for the night there was no hot water to shower in and the water in the sink came out yellow at first. Drinks and food are expensive. The worst part is dishonesty from management, they gave a small refund due to the room conditions but then reversed in the morning because I did not check out early which I never mentioned as a condition fr the partial refund (I checked out on time) which had nothing to do with the refund reason to begin with.
It is right by the beach and beautiful at that. I twas just not worth the high price fir what they offer.

Did not like this place.
The room has dirty when we got it. There were small ants and other bugs on the floor. It was loud between the walls. You could here party from the outside, and other people ran from the rooms. The bathroom was not cleaned properly, and he bedsheets looked used and dirty.

Love this place, the location is amazing for those come here for parties. Finns beach club just in front on the hotel, walk 3 minutes opposite is Atlas Beach Club. Staff is very friendly. The reception inform us if we want to go to Atlas, just show the room key will get free entrace for Atlas Beach Club. In our last night, we informed them we will check out early in the morning and they offer us to take away our breakfast set. I would definitely come here again if we stay in Canggu.

The noise from Finn's is not that bad during the day but at night they start competing with Atlas to see who is the loudest. It was 230AM and they were still going we had to leave. It was torture, I cannot recommended this to anyone. The hotel although nice they're so painfully slow. All in all stay away.

Would not recommend this place, even in these desperate times. The staff are arrogant staff and the drinks are expensive (21% hotel tax). You’re better off getting nice cocktails at Synkonah happy hour down the road.

THIS IS A HIDDEN GEM OF A HOTEL!!!
If you love the ocean, love to surf, appreciate a bit of luxury and don't want to share your holiday with package tourists "reserving" sun loungers by the pool at 6am and elbowing you out of the way to pile their plates as high as they can at the breakfast buffet, then this is the hotel for you.
Yes, this hotel is out of the way, but is situated beachfront on one of the best surfbreaks in Bali...what could be better than checking out the waves from your balcony, and knowing they are 10 steps away and a 50m paddle? With no crowds to share with?
This hotel is about 15 minutes by cab to the heart of Seminyak, or you can walk there via the beach (30-40 minute walk). We hired a car for the duration of our stay...there is plenty of free car parking at the hotel, and security to watch your car. There is another hotel next door (Bolare Beach Bungalows), but basically you are surrounded by the local community, not too many other tourists.
The quietness is beautiful, you feel like you are part of the Canggu community...it is a joy to see the all the village kids come down to the beach in the afternoon to play and splash about.
The hotel itself is lovely. The pool is sparkling clean and long enough for laps. You will often have it too yourself, which seems to add to the exclusitivity. It is set in beautiful beachfront gardens. You can watch the waves from the pool.
Breakfast, which was included in the tariff, is also fantastic. It is served in the oceanfront restaurant, and rather than a buffett, you can order from the menu and your choices are brought to you. It is such a wonderful place for breakfast, very relaxing...I often noticed alot of the expat business community would stop by here for breaky, despite not staying at the hotel.
The restaurant that serves breakfast is open all day, and also serves room service. All meals I had were of a very high standard, and room service was quick. And it was not overpriced!
The rooms are gorgeous, all with big balconies or terraces.
There is a good spa (but unfortunately, no gym).
The staff, like most in Bali were fautless.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough if you want to get away from the crowds. It is great for couples.
However, families may find it a little restrictive due to the location.
IF YOU SURF, YOU WILL BE IN HEAVEN!!
Quick tip: if you contact the hotel direct, they offer various discounts on the rooms, just ask.

Has a fridge but no coffee facilities
Shampoo and body wash no conditioner. In pump bottles on wall
They do have a very basic shampoo, no conditioner if my memory serves me right
I liked sleeping with my door open so I had to close it. I think Finns has some nights that are more raucous than others!
Hi
funnily enough, we stayed in one of the cottages. It had a 4-poster bed, with netting to draw around the sides, but there was no netting coverage the top of the bed.
They weren't an issue for us, but they were for our friend in the next cottage.
