Paxson is in the middle of no where, at the end of the amazing drive across the Denali Highway...18 miles or so to closest store so bring your own dinner or pay Audie and Jen $20 for a piece of salmon to grill in the barbeque annex, and some lovely potato salad ( would have been nice to have some...

Our trip to the remote area of Paxson and our stay at Denali Hwy cabins was highly anticipated. We were not disappointed. The incredible beauty, peace and quiet and the hospitality of Audie and Jenny made this one of the most memorable stays of our vacation. Thank you Audie and Jenny, you live an admirable life and we are so...

We stayed in the Vox cabin, which is unfortunately not directly overlooking the river, but still very comfortable. You have to realize that you are living completely off the grid here - so no microwaves and no hairdryers and no wifi. But that's not what you come to Alaska for! The nearest restaurants and 16 and 18 miles away, so...

We wanted a place to stop overnight on route from Anchorage to Fairbanks and Paxson was the ideal distance. Jenny met us in the office and Audie took us to our cabin. The cabins are lovely and very welcoming. After checking we were wine drinkers, Audie presented us with a carafe of red wine, which I thought was a wonderful...

We stayed in one of the tents along the river and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our daughter had her own twin bed and was able to read late into the night with no lights- an incredible once in a lifetime experience. The blankets and bed were so comfortable and warm we did not want to get up in the morning; however,...

I just returned from my second stay at Denali Highway Cabins (DHC). My first visit was in 2010. Audie and Jen have added many very nice features to their property during the past 6 years. Since my last visit they have added several deluxe tents to compliment the existing cabins. While I did not stay in one of the tents...

We stayed one night prior to tackling the Denali Highway and sincerely wish we could have stayed longer. Audie and Jenny were gracious, knowledgeable and informative hosts who accommodated our late arrival. The cabin was more than comfortable, spacious and surprisingly luxurious (from genuine Hudson Bay blankets, robes to chocolates on the pillows) especially given the remote location. Breakfast was...

Wow! A peaceful quiet comfy place to spend the night before or after a drive over the Denali highway! So glad we found this charming cabin or tent option and slept so peaceably beside the river. Alvin cabin was extremely comfortable and private for our evening cocktails and appetizers on the deck, then we grilled our salmon and veggies in...

We stayed there one night on the road from McCarthy to Fairbanks in Timberline tent-cabin, just on the bank of the river The tent was very comfortable with the most comfortable/coziest bed of our trip. Even if there is no restaurant, Audie will accommodate you with everything you need to grill your own dinner (the raspberry/jalapeno sauce with the salmon...

We stayed in a tent/cabin by the creek for 2 nights which had a King Tempurpedic mattress, bedside tables, a desk and sitting bench, coat rack etc. The bedding on the bed was perfect (Hudson Bay blanket) which I was not familiar with until our stay. Temperature got down in the 50's at night and we stayed very warm. Very...
