Jennifer in housekeeping was awesome ! Very helpful when I needed assistance with anything. I love this place it truly is my home away from ho me. The front desk staff are helpful and courteous. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I would recommend My Place to everyone.
My Place - Ketchikan is a wonderful hotel! The kitchenette in the room is a great help! The rooms are very clean, as well as the lobby, hallways & elevator. The beds were super cozy & comfortable! We also like the fact that there is an A & P Grocery directly beside the hotel which was a great plus to grab food & supplies. Would recommend that travelers stay here. The only negative would be that the hotel does not provide shuttle service. Other than that, great service!!
My Place is a reasonably priced Hotel near the Ferry Dock, a small shopping center, and restaurants. Spacious and comfortable room. They do not serve a free breakfast, but you can order a simple breakfast the night before to have in your room in the morning. I didn't order it, so I don't know the cost. The room had a full kitchen, but no dishes, pans, or serving ware. The walls are thin, so watch what you say. Noisy until midnight.
4 days ago tragedy hit and MyPlace Hotel has been there for 3 days with a friendly smile, or just a warm cup of cofee 24/7, I have a 13 year old dog and My Place is pet friendly and has been wonderful to both of us. This Hotel is a must if your a local or coming to visit, you must try this hotel you wont be sorry. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart My Place.
I am very disappointed with how corporate values it's customers. Overall my 4 month stay has been problem free, until upper management decided to change the rate of my stay without warning. I understand price increases and decreases as a part of business. However this price adjustment came unexpectedly at the end of a 15 week contract. My weekly rate abruptly increased over $200! I asked management to please honor my price that I have been paying the past few months and the awnser was a resounding No. I explained to management from a customer point of view this is the equivalent to paying rent every month on time with no issues and the landlord raising the monthly price by $800 a month ($200 weekly × 4 weeks) and expect us to just accept the price adjustment. If the price was quoted wrong by the company and it took management over 3 months to notice it... why should the customer suffer for the company's mistake. It was more than one person at the company that quoted this price. So where ever the mistake was made, I understand a business needing to make profit, but I also know retaining it's customers as well as keeping them returning and giving referrals is looking at the bigger picture from a business standpoint. Not only has MyPlace lost my business for the remainder of my stay here in Ketchikan (moved out the following day) but it also lost my returning business along with my referrals for future travelers that will be coming next year... my advice to you travelers. I know finding housing in Ketchikan can be difficult but my advice is it is worth the extra effort to look for other accommodations than to stay at MyPlace who doesn't put the customers as it's priority. To those who may think my review is too harsh on the company, I beg you to put yourself in the situation of being at the opposite side of the country with your family on an island where housing is tough to find, working as a traveling Healthcare worker who is here to help and support the community, and having to be forced to make a decision to accept an enormous price increase just to save the company a few dollars, or hunt to find new accommodations which is no easy task last minute. I was given no advance notice by the hotel, I literally found out the day I went to pay my rent for the week. I left because I refuse to give my money to a business who doesn't care about their customer. On a happy note... Ketchikan is lovely and I hope everyone enjoys their stay here on the island!…
