The Uptown Motel isn't anything special and the rooms are fairly small, but it has Louie's Restaurant in the front and the Back Door Sports Bar in the back. It didn't show up in the database we use for booking travel at work, but I went out of my way to phone and make a reservation. Glad I did. Nice...

Your average, run of the mill motel... lots of taxidermy and historical objects around the lobby and halls. Looked like a fun local bar next door, but we didn't venture in! Front desk lady was extremely nice, helpful and funny! Bed was good - shower was great. I'd stay there again if in the area.

I was skeptical when we pulled up because the outside of the hotel looks old. However I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms were nice and comfy. The restaurant was very good and staff helpful. I would stay again if I was in the area.

Very comfortable. Old style place, friendly staff, her helpful and hard working. Bar next door very smokey. Food great, ice cream awesome. Lots Todo in area. free Wi-Fi and cable offered. Restaurant décor very lodge like with a lot of animals on wall.

This little motel is a great place to stay. We were happily surprised with this motel because the outside is not fancy in the least, but the inside has lots of interesting surprises. The decor is rustic antique and features a cool antique cash register when you first come through the door to check in. The connected restaurant features all...

Upon arriving the gal at the front desk said our room number was 14 and was located on the first floor at the end of the hall. We got our bags from the car and headed down the hall, the room numbers only went to 12. We lugged the bags back to the front desk and she said room 14...

We stayed our last night in Alaska at the Uptown Motel. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the hotel. We stayed in the main building. The rooms were small but bed was ok. Loved the fact we could walk to Louie's and enjoy a good meal. My only down is why is the sink in the room and...

The Uptown Motel is a bit older, but is very charming and has a great restaurant. With a great restaurant that even the locals go to for their steaks and seafood, wonderful service, and some nice amenities in the rooms, the Uptown really is more of a hotel than motel and is full of pleasant surprises. Prices are reasonable, and...

The Uptown Motel (UM) is located in a historic building in the center of Kenai, AK. However, the rooms have been updated and offer most modern conveniences. There are numerous antiques throughout the facility that make for interesting browsing without leaving the main building. The best restaurant in town, Louis, (according the all the locals I encountered) is adjacent to...

Faced with a number of choices in Kenai and Soldotna, the Uptown may not seem like your first. I was greeted at the front desk by a friendly lady, who was very helpful. The room was tastefully decorated, with bathroom updates. Peaceful and quiet every night. I at at Louies Restaurant downstairs for one dinner, two lunches and three breakfasts....

“Request a room away from the Back Door Lounge as it can get a bit loud in the evenings. If you're feeling really hungry try the King Louis Breakfast special, it's more than anyone should eat in a single sitting; maybe better yet, share it with a significant other!”
