I go to Homer at least twice a year. I choose the driftwood every time. It's An older Hotel( My reason for 4 instaed of 5 stars) but it's location is priceless. The rooms are always Clean & comfortable. Although some of the rooms are...More
I booked a Ships Quarters room to stay 2 nights as we were fishing & also had a wedding to attend on Bishop's Beach, The hosts at this lodging are very nice & helpful in every way. However, the room is much smaller than it...More
The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were tiny but you really can't beat the price. I was worried about the shared bathrooms but it really wasn't a problem. Only twice in two days did any one of the three of...More
The inn is rustically decorated. Old Town Homer is about a mile from Homer proper, but there are restaurants and shops across the street and within easy walking distance. The inn also has easy access to a stony, pebbly beach for those who like to...More
The ships quarter room (8 x 10) was the tiniest room we have ever stayed in - but that did not keep us from being comfortable. They make you aware of the size before you book - and it was very clean. Nothing fancy -...More

Hi Mairead,
I think you will find the Driftwood Inn perfect for getting to know Homer. We are located within walking distance of the grocery stores, library, dining, Islands & Ocean Visitor's Center, the Pratt Museum and the Chamber of Commerce. Bishops Beach is just steps away for morning or evening walks. You could catch a taxi out to the spit to visit the Seafarers Memorial, Salty Dawg and the shops. I hope that helps. Safe Travels! We are a very small park so reservations for July is an excellent idea as we fill up fast that time of year. We also can help you with fishing charters and bear viewing. Safe Travels:)

Sorry we don't offer a full breakfast. We do have "economy" breakfast that is priced nominally; $1.50 for milk and cereal, etc...mainly for families traveling with small children. Coffee and Tea are complimentary. We highly recommend both Maura's and Two Sisters Bakery located very close to the Inn that have wonderful options for breakfast. Hope that helps:)
