This was one of the nicest places we stayed at during our travels through Alaska. We were in the Kenai unit and after having stayed in a very small room the previous nights at a different location we really enjoyed all the space. It's good to have a kitchen even though we only used it for making tea and coffee in the evening. Everything was very clean and we felt comfortable right away. Shoman is a great hostess and very welcoming. Being on holidays the only thing we missed was breakfast but we were informed of this ahead of time so it wasn't a problem. There was a bakery nearby ('The Bake Shop, walking distance: 10 minutes) which served good breakfast. Girdwood is great for hiking and you can start straight from the house without having to drive to a trailhead first. We can only recommend staying at this lovely B&B.…
We had a marvelous experience with Shoman Ryan & Alyeska B&B. She is a knowledgeable and gracious host. The home & individual rooms are beautiful and full of charm & personality. Wish we could have stayed longer. Hope we can go back one day
Hi Shoman and Mark, we wanted to let you guys know how much we enjoyed our stay in you wonderful Alyeska Adventures Bed and Breakfast. You home was wonderfully decorated, warm and welcoming. Shoman was such a gracious hostess! She is so cute, and sweet. And a wonderful cook. Our family truely loved our visit. Keep up the good work.
From the moment we met hosts Mark and Shoman we were impressed. The house was tastefully decorated and the mountain views from our own private deck were spectacular. In the morning after soaking in an authentic Japanese tub we were served a delicious breakfast of fresh-picked berry muffins and salmon quiche. That afternoon we took a jetboat tour with Mark and saw tons of great scenery and wildlife. Everything from the room to the trip was a great value and the hosts couldn't have been nicer. I highly recommend this B&B.
We stayed over the fourth of July weekend and had a great experience at Alyeska Adventures. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go and felt like we were in a very central location. It is very family friendly and our kind hosts were very informative on local activities and the Girdwood scoop. We stayed in the Kenai Room, which was very 1979, but comfortable and clean. It was everything we wanted and more: a full apartment with full kitchen, giant tub, and great open space with lots of natural light. And we couldn't beat the price, especially in prime time Girdwood summer season.
