Easy check in for tired travelers. The keys were in the door for us after a 8 hour flight we were happy to not have the hassle of “checking in”. The cabin was very clean and looked new. The beds were extremely comfy with lots of pillows. Owners did stop by to welcome us and was very friendly. Location is excellent to explore the area.
Rented the Placer for a one night getaway. We had four in our party and it was the perfect amount of space. Cabin is gorgeous and very cozy. The owners were great, really helpful and welcoming. Shuttle service was an awesome bonus to shuffle us around town for dinner and drinks with no worries about driving: ) Highly recommend!
We had an unusual experience where we booked the Glacier Cabin for two nights and then found out that it had been doublebooked. The owners offered to let us stay one night in the Glacier Cabin and one night in the Alyeska Cabin in order to accommodate both parties and we accepted. The Glacier Cabin was beautiful! The bed was comfortable, we loved the tub, and the "tiny home" layout. They even set out bug spray for us, which was helpful. The provided coffee was delicious! However there wasn't any cooling system in the house so we had to open the windows, and there were no window screens so the mosquitos, which were in abundance, had freedom to come in while we attempted to cool it down. We moved to the Alyeska cabin for our second night and were a bit disappointed- compared to the Glacier cabin this one left us wanting. It was comfortable enough, but in order to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night you have to go down a crooked, tall loft ladder in the semi-dark. The bedroom is up in the loft and while the lower level windows all have blackout curtains the high windows that shine directly into the loft/bedroom area do not. In the summer when the sun doesn't go down the sun is shining right into your face while you try to sleep. The plus is that there were screens on the windows so we could open them without getting mosquito bites through the night. Overall I would recommend staying here, especially if you can obtain the Glacier Cabin.…
My wife, two kids and I stayed in the Placer cabin for two nights during a family vacation. It was stellar. The cabin is new with modern fixtures and is nicely-decorated -- it felt like a home, not a room. The master bedroom is in a second floor loft and there is an additional bedroom on the ground floor. There also is a third bed -- a sleeper sofa -- in the living room. The kitchen is fully-stocked. The cabin has a porch with chairs. Everything was immaculate, and it was obvious the owners take great pride in their work. We also appreciated the owners' obvious efforts to be environmentally-conscious. We were greeted on arrival by delicious, homemade blueberry bread that Lynne, one of the owners, left for us. We spoke with Lynne for a few minutes and she is very friendly. She also was kind enough to let us take a can of bear spray to have with us on the rest of our trip (fortunately, we never needed it). The cabins are located off of the main road leading into Girdwood, about 1.5 miles from the center of the town. They are set back from the road so you cannot see it from the cabin, but you occasionally can hear some road noise. A bike trail runs along the side of the road from the cabins to the town, making the center of town a easy bike ride from the cabins. Unless you are looking for resort amenities, it's hard to imagine there is a better place to stay in Girdwood. I took the included photos as I was leaving, so if anything looks a little disheveled in the photos, that's my fault.…
Wish this cabin was ours!! Extremely clean, updated, fluffy towels, adorable. Just off the main road (but far enough from traffic) and very close to restaurants for a meal. Friendly and welcoming owners and dog! Don’t hesitate to book here.
