The only private island, adults only resort in the Cook Islands. It is the only Cook Islands resort to offer that invention of incurable romantics - the Overwater Bungalow. And it is the only resort on Aitutaki with a truly Polynesian flavour, so you can truly savour what the South Pacific is famous for.

The perfect place to just relax and rewind. Peace and quiet in an adults only environment makes for a great get away from the hustle and bustle of busy life. It’s not like your 5 star hotel, rather like coming home. Beautiful surroundings and the staff are friendly and warm and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Definitely one to come back to.

A must for every bucket list! I visited in Jan 2023 & April 2024 and was blown away by the stunning weather and mesmerising lagoon. Hammocks provided the perfect relaxation spot, and the resort's array of activities kept me entertained. My rooms came fully equipped with SUP board, kayak, snorkel gear, push bikes and more, making exploration effortless. The rotating dinner menu offered delicious variety, complemented by live music under the stars. The staff were exceptional – friendly, professional, and attentive to every detail. I simply cannot fault this resort and will wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable getaway. Whether you're craving relaxation, honeymoon, adventure, or a perfect blend of both, Aitutaki Lagoon Private Island Resort exceeds all expectations. Trust me – this is an experience you won't want to miss in this lifetime.

We had such a wonderful time. The staff were amazing (thanks K) bikes, snorkels, kayaks and paddle boards provided. We had a standard room which was perfect for us as we weren't planning on being in it much. Everyone knows your name which added a personal touch. The pool and pool area was lovely although it is advertised that there were two pools available. The second pool wasnt as the area around it was under construction. What lets this stunning location, people and amenities down is the inconsistent food. Very hit and miss. Some quite un eatable, eg Wagu eye fillet, medium rare came as a piece of over cooked rump and lumpy mash - that's a hard pass from me. However, my partner had a delicious burger, thai curry and was happy. If they bring their menu and skills up to the level that matches what they promote then it will definitely be a 5 out of 5 from me. We will still come back for sure but perhaps be more aware of the menus faults.

This resort is outstanding! We stayed in an overwater bungalow for 6 nights which was stunning 🤩. Every staff member (reception, restaurant, activities, housekeeping and gardening) was so nice and friendly 🙏 😁. We would definitely love to return one day. The food was delicious, the cocktails 🍹 were superb, the marine life 🐠 🪸 under the bungalow’s deck was incredible and the lagoon and island views were mind-blowingly gorgeous. The kayak, paddleboard, float-beds, snorkelling gear 🤿 and reef shoes were greatly appreciated ✅ A huge thanks to Jerry, Jason, Ron, Rena, Illy, Violeta, Mere, Wise, Luke, Rawiena, Marty and everyone else that made our stay so special. We also loved the ‘island night’ performances from the band, singers, drummers 🪘 and dancers (maidens, warriors and fire twirlers 🔥). We can also highly recommend T’s Tours Aitutaki for a 3-hour lagoon tour. It was excellent!

We stayed in the overwater bungalow and everything was amazing i cant wait to come back. Staff were super kind and helpful, loved all the events especialy crab racing! We are vegan and were pleasantly surprised with the food options. Everyday different dinner menu options. Pretty expensive but the whole island seems to be the same i guess because they have to import everything. Only thing i can say is i wish the bar stayed open longer 9pm is quite early if you are on a holiday. Luke, Wise and Jerry looked after us in the restaurant, Wise the chef made the most amazing green curry we have ever had, Kay was so nice and always had suggestions for us to do and was very friendly. Marty (Ricky Martin) took us into town and suggested a great cafe for us and gave us a bit of a tour. Tia was also very lovely. Rena was a highlight as well she went above and beyond for us very kind. Hopefully will be back soon!

We are committed to ensuring that all our guests have memorable experiences, and we are thrilled that we could exceed your expectations. Do not stay here! Before we booked this hotel, we read many alarming reviews on TripAdvisor, where people complained about the loud construction. We were looking for a place that was peaceful and quiet, so we contacted the hotel to ask if the construction was still happening. After all, this resort is very expensive! We didn't want to pay so much money to be in a really noisy environment. The hotel wrote us back, reassuring us: "We are pleased to inform you that the construction work will be completed by July 1st, ensuring a hassle-free experience for your travel." That was a lie. We spent a tremendous amount of money to come in mid-July, and there was still a ton of noisy construction that was nowhere near completion. We felt ripped off. We were conned by their false promises. From other travelers, we had read that the food would be bad, which was true. But we were still willing to come, because the location is lovely. But we wish we could have had our money back. Even if the construction is now finally finished, I would not recommend a hotel that uses deception and lies.

We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay at Aitutaki Lagoon Private Island Resort more! The lagoon off of the beach front bungalows was stunning, and the kayaks and paddle boards were great. The food was some of the best we had in the Cook Islands and Jerry, Mere, Luke, Violeta, Wise and the other wonderful staff were always friendly, accommodating, and made us feel at home. We hope to come back in a few years and will be recommending Aitutaki Lagoon to our friends and family!
