The owner welcomed us and offered full hospitality in his beautiful home and splendid terrace and garden....we loved it and wished we could have stayed longer. The owner advised to have dinner at the nearby delicious Indian restaurant..

We were so delighted to find this gracious and fresh oasis just down the lane from a busy, bustling part of town. Cool porches, eclectic artifacts from Central American countries and the bright garden colors of the tropics, we've found a wonderful and restful home in San Jose from which to begin our holiday in Costa Rica. Host Xavier exuded...

When the hotel where I usually stay was fully booked, a friend recommended this place, and I was so glad that she did! Host Xavier was exceptionally friendly when I first called, and his kindness and hospitality just wouldn't quit. Just off a busy road, this place is an oasis of natural and architectural beauty. The gardens and multicolor exterior...

My fiancée and I felt very welcomed by the warmth and care of the hosts at Casa de la Tias. The space takes you away from the town feeling by its remoteness and beautiful gardens, (even though you are just around the corner of major streets and lots of restaurant options). We highly recommend the balcony room! Sweet veranda for...

We spent three nights with Pilar and Xavier and it was a real treat. There home is ideally set-up for a B&B including lot's of privacy when you need it. We stayed in their larger suite which we enjoyed. Great bed, great breakfast and great company. Their experience as hosts over the years really pays off. We'll be back!

I have been traveling to Costa Rica for the past 11 years and this year was amazed to find a little hideaway in Alajuela which is a jewel of service, comfort and ambience. We got the warmest welcoming from Don Xavier after a full 24h of travelling from Sweden. You feel like a family friend with the amicable atmosphere, we think anyone would love to be hosted for a night or a few from Xavier and Pilar. The place itself is charming with beautiful colors and wooden interior. Our room was perfect, tidy...

Hosts Xavier and Pilar could not have been more warm and hospitable. Their B&B, tucked away along a little side street, consists of a beautiful home surrounded by an impressive, tropical landscape (I'm a horticulturist, and really appreciated the varied, inviting gardens). Great rooms, a good breakfast and - of course - that rich Costa Rican coffee!
