I stayed here with a friend on the last day of our 2 week trip around Costa Rica. The owner was super nice and accommodating as we arrived several hours before check in. We had a room with a queen and a king bed. The décor was gorgeous. There was hot water in the shower (not a typical thing in...

Stayed at Casa 69 March 17th and 18th. Upon arrival the lady at the front desk was trying to solve a problem talking with the owner Donna on the phone. Donna was talking very loud and barking orders to her employee so I could hear....it turned out it was a problem of entering a hotel guests name backwards and they...

Thank you for your feedback. We always appreciate our guests comments. We are always happy to hear when a guest has enjoyed their stay. In general I cannot disagree with your comment. It is good rule of thumb. I do suspect though, that a person who has just traveled for 12 hours and arrives late at night only to be...

This hotel is a great place to stay for a stop in SJO. You can walk to many restaurants and it has a great coffee bar next door (Oso) and two pubs as well. This is not for people that cannot take noise, when the tram passes you can hear it as if it is passing through your room, I...

Thank you for your review although you have made it clear your stay with us was not up to your standards. I would like to respond to a few of your comments. First, according to my staff, you arrived complaining about the last place you stayed and did not stop complaining until you left. You were put on the top...

This place is fabulous. The location is excellent and everyone that works or helps out around the hotel is nice, knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to get a pick-up from the airport for an extra charge - well worth it. I highly recommend considering this option. Once we arrived, the room was exactly as pictured. The grounds are private...

Thank you for your great comments. We will share them with our staff We have a secure bodega and we are happy to store our guests belongings there while they explore other parts of the country. It may not be convenient to carry large bags into a rain forest if you are not going for an extended period :) We...

I don't know where to start with Casa 69. I loved the location, just meters from Av Central. I also like that it was close to good bars (I really liked L'Estacion and Craic.) My junior queen room, #7, was bright, clean, and well-appointed - it definitely exceeded my expectations. In the mornings I loved spending a little time getting...

The owner is very nice. He will make sure you have a wonderful stay. I woke up really early, he bought me local bread for breakfast and prepared me coffee and some other treats. I checked in without making a reservation very late at night. The owner was not in the hostel, but when he received my called, he rushed...

Conveniently located in California Barrio. Clean , but modest rooms. Beautiful city views from rooftop. Very nice staff and fresh continental breakfast. Can walk to museums and central market. Perfect for a night or two on either end of your trip.

Thank you very much for your comments. Well put. Couldn't have expressed it better if I had written the review myself, except of course, being the owner, I would have rated us at a 5 :)

This is a quaint, quirky old-style hotel in a convenient area of San Jose, NOT you typical Holiday Inn. It has lots of atmosphere: colourful paint scheme with a treed courtyard in the middle, adequate rooms, very helpful staff, great fresh fruit continental breakfast, and is an easy walk to many interesting attractions - museums, pedestrian walkways, a beautiful baroque...

Thank you for your wonderful comments. We are always glad to hear from guests who have enjoyed their stay with us. You are very accurate in your review. We are not a typical Holiday Inn and we have worked very hard to earn that distinction. Each room is individually decorated. The rooms are colorful, tasteful, and inviting. We have gardens,...
