I stayed only one night in Gaudy's on my way to Puerto Viejo. Overall, it was an excellent experience! I knew I would be late because of a mechanical problem with the bus so I sent an email explaining the situation and asking them to hold my bed. Someone replied witin ah hour saying that it wasn't a problem. I...

The hostel serves as a transit point for many short-term travelers to San José. Every day new people come and others go. Overall the staff is dealing with it in efficient way. They work very hard to keep the place clean, refresh sheets and pillows, supervise the use of the kitchen etc. They are doing a good job. The location...

Stayed here for one night. The staff are very nice and help you out a lot. The beds are a bit squeaky however and and also the breakfast is only served between 7:30-8:30am which for me was cold rice and beans with three slices of toast. Free coffee all day and a communal kitchen was very nice to have though

This hostel experience was a nightmare. My sister and I arrived in Costa Rica and headed straight for this hostel after a few long days of traveling. We had booked two nights and as soon as we arrived we were asked to pay and we did so in cash, without thinking to check the room first or to check our...

We stayed one night here after landing in San Jose. The surrounding area isn't great although it's near the park and in walking distance to downtown. Our room was clean but the shower was cold. WiFi was also spotty.

My sister and I arrived to Gaudy's after two long days of travel. Our plan was to meet our parents the following days, but we hadn't had wifi to confirm our plans. We payed right away in cash and opened our Wifi and realized we needed to meet our parents a day earlier than expected. It was literally five minutes...

Even let me pitch up before going off to find an ATM to pay them later in the day. Very relaxed and comfortable environment and would use them...

This is probably the best hostel in a Central American capital I ever stayed at (price-quality-ratio and I traveled a lot). With an ambiance as if you would live in someone's house, it is lovingly furnished, well-maintained and aligned to travelers and living needs. You can use the well equipped communal kitchen, TV, Pool-Table, and relax at its plenty recreation...
