The staff here have been super nice and helpful. At first I was disappointed to get a dorm room (to myself, they assure me) but it's given me much spread out room. Yes, they bathroom is shared, but it's just out my door, and is rarely in use. I walked this evening toward downtown San Jose, and while the boss...

We stayed here one night before our flight, in a private double room with bathroom. We were perfectly happy with our stay, the owner was very friendly, there is a supermarket a short walk away and it was easy and cheap to get an Uber to the airport.

I stayed two nights in a private single room at Mi Casa. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The common areas, especially the open courtyard, were beautiful and comfortable. The free pancake breakfast was appreciated! Other than that... it's a hostel. My room was small and felt like a cell with no window to the outside - only an...

Clean rooms with basic facilities but communal areas have seen better days. Lounge area and kitchen need some work. Garden is nice with a pet Tortoise roaming about. Location is quiet and about a 20 minute walk to the main shops/restaurants. Decent option for a stay in San Jose.

I guess the good reviews seem to be from folks that had the private better rooms. I stayed in the dorm.. Nasty crummy bathroom low water pressure barely hot and took forever to flow warm and cheap lumpy kids foam mattresses. Apparently some travelers are use to only sleazy flea bag places. I saw cockroaches, broken bathroom fixtures. No soap...

We adored this little gem. The staff are lovely, the rooms are clean and we had our own bathroom and TV. There is a hammock, a visiting squirrel, cats, and some turtugas wondering around the yard. It was very quiet and tranquil. Breakfast is pancakes! There are plenty of places to eat close by but if you're not a fan...

The hostel title is misleading, many hotels are not this good. The rooms are small and clean, there's a lovely courtyard outside, and staff are friendly. The location is good, right by the Central Park and a 20 minute walk to downtown. And the showers have hot water, real hot water, something many other hostels in Costa Rica don't manage.

Located just off the sabana park which has the rainbow eucalyptus trees. Felt safe. Has a nice common area and patio. The staff are really helpful, but their phones and wifi are awful. Stayed in the dorm which rattles a lot, not too much of a problem. Beds are mediocre. Clean. No lockers or safe, why???

“The rooms on the second floor balcony are nice. I'd try avoiding the rooms closest to the kitchen for travelers talking late at night or getting up for breakfast early in the morning if you want more sleep.”
