The concierge services are wonderful, the location is great, and the price is good. The restaurant continues to decline. Not all rooms have air con, and bathrooms need updating. Not the hotel’s fault, but jackhammer at 11 pm one night nearby was annoying to many...More
We only stayed one night in Hotel Don Carlos in May 2018. The staff was very friendly, especially in the restaurant. We had dinner there, it was simple but good.

Sorry I didn't answer sooner. We didn't see any noteworthy attractions nearby, but found the parks, streets, shops and markets nearby safe to walk to. We did get out about 10 in the morning, and felt no qualms about being out. The hotel is in the business district, so there always a lot of people around. Our driver from the airport recommended being watchful when we used our cell phones in the event someone came by and tried to grab the phone, but we didn't encounter any thieves.
