Excellent attention to detail in the room. Ideal for short stay visiting the capital. Good bar and restaurant (can be chilly in the courtyard) Enormously helpful desk staff. Early morning coffee kick starts the day. Only downside was traffic from airport when we arrived in

Centrally located in downtown San Jose, this hotel stands well above the rest. The hotel is impressive: from the entrance sequence with lush plants, to the stunning courtyard in the highly-regarded restaurant, to the antiques in the hallways, and the beautiful rooms. Splurge in

This hotel reminds of my beloved Imperial hotel in Mumbai ; an oasis in the middle of mayhem . Unfortunately traffic in San Jose is now comparable to Mumbai’s ... the warm welcome st Grano de Oro was a respite to a tough day . This place has been run by Canadians for decades

We stated here for the night after landing in San Jose for the first night of our honeymoon. The hotel is lovely, traditional with excellent service and staff. We stayed in a Garden suite which quite expensive, but was very spacious and comfortable and had a small little

The Grano de Oro is a truly beautiful boutique hotel. Our room though was rather cramped and came with a welcome complimentary mini bar filled with snacks and soft drinks . The lounge and restaurant just oozes character with its rich dark wood decor. Lovely for afternoon tea,

Not too sure if you can easily change room but I’ll be surprised if you get a noisy room as it is very quite there. I think they can arrange a pick up for you in the airport. Having said that, there is a lot of taxi or Uber is even available there.

I used the enquiry service with the booking agency, which I think was Expedia. I was not sure that the message would get to the hotel, but I got a personal reply within 24 hours and was told the car had been booked and would be there to meet us. This worked exactly right, and once in the hotel I was able to meet and thank the staff member. Hence, my advice is to email the hotel directly, or to contact staff via your booking agency, or do both. Honestly this is a great hotel and I am sure you will be helped.

Good afternoon. So glad you are coming to stay with us! One option is to rent a car at the airport and drive to our hotel. It is not complicated but being your first time in the country and if it will be dark when you arrive you may rather take a transfer to the hotel and have the rental car people come to the hotel the next morning and drop your car off to you. Please contact us so we can give you more personalized help!

Our kitchen is open until 10 pm but we do have menu items that can be pre-ordered and will be placed in your room prior to your arrival if you are interested in food. The bar usually closes around 11 pm depending on the restaurant movement. We do have minibars in our rooms with drinks and snacks and wine or beer can be preordered from the restaurant and placed in your room. Please contact our front desk for these options.
