You nearly feel like sleeping outside in spite of lying in a comfortable bed. The walls are only mosquito nets with curtains if needed. Quite an experience to sleep listening to all the sounds of the night! The well equipped bathroom has concrete walls with no insight but are totally open for insects between wall and roof. Be prepared to...

We were met at Playa Blanca by a smiling David after crossing Golfo Dulce from Saladero Lodge by boat. The welcome was made even more memorable by squawking macaws in the palms along the beach. The lodge was a short drive away near a small village--but apart from the village. We had planned to stay in one of the bungalows,...

The lodge looks amazing from the inside, everything is ecologically built. The location in the wild makes it an adventurous experience, felt so in touch with nature. Seeing a trail of moving leaves carried by ants on the way to the lodge, hearing the cries of the nocturnal animals in the midst of the night, taking a shower in the...

After a beatiful ride down from the central mountain range of Costa Rica we arrived in the small community of Las Palmas. We passed by colourful houses and got a small taste of the real Costa Rica. As we arrived in the pooring rain we were welcomed by one of the boys working in the lodge. He just stood there...

The reception staff (local girl and guy), unfortunately could not speak English. They were either not expecting two guys for the lodge or were expecting only one guest instead of 2 guests. So they quickly took arrangements to make up a spare bed. When we entered our lodge the girl asked us to take of shoes, boots or sandals in...

Dante Corcovado Lodge is one of our most exithing accomodations of out costa rica trip. Nice wooden lodges with everything you need in the open nature experience. Friendly employees, excellent food. A joy to stay. If you go to the south of costa rica i suggest to join this lodge.

We stayed at Danta mid-July for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We loved everything about Danta. The staff: Merlin, Nelson, Andres, Gabriel (just to name a few) are helpful and friendly. Danta is owned and operated by Ticos, not always the norm in Costa Rica. Merlin has a lot of pride and love for his lodge and it shows. The...

I normally am very happy with booking properties I find with TripAdvisor. However, I will say that this choice was horrible. They advertise as having WiFi and the web site looks very nice. When we arrived we were first alarmed by the horrible location. It was not in the rain forest but at the back side of a local costa...

This place was the highlight of our stay in Costa Rica, the surroundings do not look so great when you first get there but once you discover your hidden villa in the forest, you feel you have landed to some extraordinary place, alone in the forest surrounded by wildlife. Sleeping in the wild is a great experience, although it can...

We recently spent two wonderful nights at guests at Danta Corcovado in Costa Rica. The hotel and resort sits just outside of the Corcovado National Park, and is owned and operated by a very enterprising Costa Rican family. All of the architecture is built of local materials, with original wood carvings and beautifully maintained wooden floors in all the cabins...
