This is a well-run, friendly, and professional "rustic resort" a few miles from town located right on the beach. I was there, with a friend, for a mix of wildlife viewing and tropical relaxation, in my first visit to Costa Rica (though over the decades I've been to remote tropical resorts elsewhere). The location is close enough to town that...

Nestled on the lush grounds, on the gulf side of the OSA, is a collection of rooms and casitas, pool, yoga spaces, spa and chock full of birds and animals. Hosts are welcoming, food is created with care, and you are catered to a relaxing holiday. Saw dolphins, sloth, raptors, experienced warm tropical waters. Highly recommend.

We decided to go there, because the sea there is more calm than at the other nearby options. We were not disappointed. Would not recommend the place for a serious surfer. Pool is great, food very good, staff always friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend reserving a casita, the alternative is a small room in the clubhouse, which we...

We spent three nights at Iguana Lodge on our return from Carate beach area. The lodge was very comfortable and low-key, the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. The forested grounds make way to a nice grassy area and then the beach. Boards are available for those wanting to body surf - waves not big. There is also a swimming pool...

Spent ten days in Costa Rica in 2013. All of our resort stays were very good. The only thing I would change is to extend my stay at the Iquana Lodge. Very intimate and restful. Bird watching hike was awesome. I would have like to safari in Corcovado National Park and do some deep sea fishing. I guess I will...

We stayed for 3 nights, driving down from the Quepos area (most people fly in). Room was ready by 12 when we arrived, a beautiful casita with lots of space and a to die for balcony overlooking jungle and the ocean. Nice attention to detail in room and bath, very nice wood/casual vibe. The beach and ocean were lovely, water...

I've imagined paradise a million times...and it exists at the Iguana Lodge. We wanted a relaxing, romantic spot where we could calm our minds and feed our souls. The universe led us to the Iguana Lodge. We stayed in one of the lodge rooms which was perfect for just the 2 of us. The food was delicious. The breakfasts and...

We had a great 4 days at Iguana lodge a couple weeks ago. We really enjoyed our upper casaita. It is a screen panaramic wonder. So nice to have a bugs out and not to have AC. Great to wake up to all the sounds of the jungle. My suggestion is to plan your tours before coming. I would start...

Well I have to say that after initial surprise of being in a jungle beach hotel, this place could not have been more terrific! The staff is great, you really feel like you are hanging with friends. Amazing location where you can hear and see different birds and monkeys. (Even a sloth). The pool is perfect with a nice hot...

My husband and i had a fabulous 5 day stay in one of the casitas at Iguana Lodge for our belated honeymoon. It was well worth waiting for. There's something a bit special and a bit different about Iguana - an amazing place to just do nothing but relax by the pool or beach, enjoy good company and conversation or...
