We had the most wonderful time at Punta Marenco!!! It really was everything we hoped for. It was remote and close to nature, laid back and not fussy, it was organized, flexible and punctual but not uptight. It was wonderfully campy, lights out at 9-10pm, open air, but very clean and well kept. We thought the staff was terrific and... More

We just returned from a two week trip to Costa Rica. We spent 4 nights in Punta Marneco Lodge, in Drake Bay on the Osa Pennisula. I intentionally picked Punt Marenco b/c I wanted to stay at a higher end eco lodge that was near Corcovado. This lodge offers none of the services of the higher end lodges yet charges... More

I was hesitant about the lodge because I had read negative reviews from other people, but overall, I thought it was a great place to stay if you are on a budget, want to truly get away from it all, and are not looking for anything fancy. The only real minus was that the boat was hours late to pick... More

Hola, My husband and I just returned from 10 days at Punta Marenco Lodge. It is a fabulous place for experiencing the life of the Osa Peninsula, or for relaxing, both of which we did. The huts were quaint, airy, and quite waterproof. The food was traditional Costa Rican and very tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beaches... More

Don't come to Punta Marenco if you are looking for extras. Very basic rooms with screens/sheets for walls, electricity only a few hours in the evening (the generator went out one night of our stay) and cold water. The grounds and setting are gorgeous and <almost> make up for the lack of a knowledgeable guide. The food was mediocre --... More

We had a wonderful stay at Punta Marenco Lodge. The food was wonderful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Scarlet Macaws and Toucans fly over daily, and monkeys frolic in the trees. That being said, remember this is a wilderness lodge- their is electricity only from 5:30-10:30 pm, and no air conditioning. If you are looking for a... More

We are now back in stormy and snowy Sweden after a wonderful stay in Costa Rica. We travelled around alot in Costa Rica, but one place we will never forget is the days we spent at Punta Marenco. Waking up to the monkeys at 5, going back to sleep...waking up again by the parrots at 6. Watching the tucans during... More

EXPENSIVE for what you get! - tour time schedule changes every minute - not enough boats for guests/tours - food: poor quality - open houses: lots of insects, roaches at night - in other parts of CR we had more knowledgable guides - had to ask for clean towels, toilet paper - matras < 2 cm thick

“All the main rooms seemed to have fantastic views, just through the top part of the forest canopy onto the option. Each equipped with a balcony and private bathroom. Number 1 and 2 seem to provide the best views. I asked for these and was extremely pleased with no. 1!”

“Ask for an ocean-view cabana. I think they may have better ventilation.”

“A place that I visit every year with my groups, great people to deal with, quiet, lots of wildlife, great management and staff. Do not put any attention to bad comments, I had been several times with my student groups and scientific groups and we never had and never will a bad experience. Highly recommend it.”
