Our family of five stayed in the Casa Sol for a wonderful week and it was a hit with everyone. The villa was spacious and beautiful with lots of art and beautiful craftsmanship. The hummingbirds visited us everyday and we got to watch the lotus bloom from our front porch. It was wonderfully private but close to everything. We grilled...

Great location. The big garden with hammocks overlooking the sea and next to the river (especially in rainy season) is one of the highlights. Located a bit outside the village gives more peace, although the quads can make unpleasant noise, especially if parked in front. Breakfast buffet on Sunday was lovely, other days it's a la carte. The bathroom was...

We stayed here for two nights. We were greeted by a lovely lady who I assume is the owner. The first part of our stay was nice, with only a few niggles like the lack of any screen stopping mosquitoes or insects getting into the bathroom and hence the room (room 8). We didn't even mind having to remove a...

I don't stay here because I live nearby, but every Saturday morning I go there for breakfast because it is so beautiful to sit there and take in the gorgeous view over the well-tended garden to the ocean with waves braking over the rocky coastline and the morning sun reflecting off the waves. I meet an artist friend there, Joerg,...

We had a very nice stay for one night. The hotel is rustic mixed with funky. Bathroom was nice. Everything was very clean. Interesting sitting areas and lots of plants everywhere. Humming birds popped by regularly. The tidal pool was great fun and one of the highlights. The hammocks, lounge areas and the grounds in general were great for relaxing....

I travelled to Costa Rica in 2005 with 3 friends (couldn't select the correct date in this review...). This hotel was recommended by a Costa Rican who drove us from Tamarindo to Montezuma. This hotel was magic. Its situated right on the beach with a beautiful lawn sprinkled with hammocks and a private cove. The hotel is constructed of beautiful...

Hotel Amor de Mar is a delightful hotel, in a great location a short walk from Montezuma. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful - a beach setting, with a green lawn with hammocks and lounge chairs. The staff was friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange several tours. Our room was simple and tasteful with a fabulous view of the...

If you are going to stay in Montezuma this place is highly recommended for those who want a little more than a no frills hostel. Situated at the end of town you can make a trip up to the Montezuma falls before breakfast and beat the crowds and the heat. The rooms are clean, large and have private bathrooms with...
