Shared dorms (also private rooms available), clean bathrooms, great breakfast each morning and a friendly, helpful staff. Just a short walk to downtown Montezuma and the beach. Greeted by howlers monkeys each morning and lulled to sleep by the sound of the Pacific each night. I would, without question, come back to Luz en el Cielo.

My sister and I stayed at Luz en el Cielo for 2 nights July 2015. Our first night we spend in the dorms, must say that originally we booked the dorm plus but ended up switching to the regular dorms upon arrival- actually in our opinion much nicer! The second night we spend in a private cabin with a view.....

I've been putting off writing this review for a couple of weeks, because I simply can't find the words to describe how lovely my stay was. I woke up every morning to glimpse the sun rising through the French doors of my cabina. I looked forward to running downstairs to catch breakfast before my daily adventures. I delighted in watching...

We really enjoyed our two nights here and the breakfast is great. Hot water all of the time which was a real bonus. We opted for the dorm plus which was an extra $5 per night each. I wouldn't bother, the 'ensuite' was a corrugated iron shed with a shower curtain rather than a door, and wasn't ensuite, you still...

Budget place with everything you need in the forest but very close to city center. Loved the place, good breakfast and very friendly staff. The jungle noises at night add to the charm of this hotel. Would stay there again !

luz en el Cielo is one of my favorite hostels I've ever been to. It is not only very unique but is extremely clean as well. I stayed in two different dorm rooms. Both were very spacious, had a nice deck to sit on and since its in the forest you get to wake up and watch the wildlife on...

The walk to the hostel from the town center is relatively short but up a somewhat steep incline with cars coming around blind corners. The hostel itself had good and bad traits: the surrounding jungle was nice and secluded, the building itself was decent, but the rooms were tiny and the bathrooms sparse. There was a nice common area upstairs...

We were 6 people that first visited Montezuma, place that I recommend for everybody. We asked for a room at Luz en el Cielo, place that has previously been recommended to us, and we were right. Good rooms (we booked a room for all the 6 and it consisted on a 2 floor room with 6 beds and fans, also...

A full breakfast in the morning, friendly and helpful staff, and accomodations in the middle of the jungle with howler monkeys waking you up in the morning. It was an amazing experience. I also really appreciated that they give you a personal fan attached to your bunk bed. For a Canadian like me, it can be hard to sleep in...

Luz en el Cielo was a much-needed break away from mud (SO. MUCH. MUD.) after camping at Arenal in Costa Rica's rainy season, and it had everything we hoped for - beds, a warm shower, clean kitchen and toilets and friendly staff. Great place for chilling in a hammock, reading, or just marveling at the wildlife that inhabits the trees...
