Supposed to stay a day or two but stayed 6 days. All you need-clean rooms, cold A/C,hot water, within walking distance to beach, national park, grocery, restaurants. Staff were friendly and informative. Sloth in the tree near pool and monkeys in the mornings. Did not want to go home. Lobby has a restaurant with good food. Beach has a restaurant...

Our excellent Costa Rican advisor, Catalina Cuevas, recommended this small hotel. Otherwise, we would never have been likely to select it from its website. Rooms are comfortable and rooms with kitchens (referred to as suites) are available. The staff is friendly and helpful. The best part is that it is not up on the cliffs where the larger hotel properties...

A friend and I took a five day trip to Costa Rica and stayed here the whole time. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and made up each day. The hotel is really right on the beach- you just have to walk down a little path. There is a beach restaurant with decent breakfast right there,...

We spent a few nights here and overall were very happy with it. The hotel has seen better days and the best way to describe our room, the Loft, was as a playboy pad from the 1970s. When I first saw it I hated it but before long I was very comfortable there. It was a bit dark and definitely...

Verde Mar is a basic hotel in a great location. This was our second stay and we like it as a base for our visit. We have two young kids and love the convenience of no drive, short walk beach access (large umbrellas and 2 chairs rent for $10/day from nearby beach vendors and there is a beach restaurant with...

Hotel Verde Mar is a fairly small hotel set on two levels, right smack on the beach. To me it had a backpacker feel about it, but very reasonably priced and good value for money I thought. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the pool, which did get noisy, but apart from that it was bright and came...

The room was clean but the lighting was bad. It is on the beach, but there are other places very close that looked nice too. The staff was OK - but seemed to think our request for glasses and a coffee pot was asking too much. The restaurant that was on the premises was very good. I wouldn't stay here...

Location is indeed great, this is an older, not recently updated motel style place that might be good for people on a tight budget who don't care about any luxuries. Pool is small but clean. Do NOT eat in their little dining area in the front, especially for breakfast.

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Verde Mar. Its a fine, basic hotel right on the beach. Not luxurious, but clean and friendly (except for one woman who works the front desk who seems to always be cranky, everyone else was great.) I'd recommend this place, especially as Manuel Antonio has become quite expensive, this place is priced at...

The location is great, right on the beach, close walk to the national park. We chose it because of the ``kitchenette`. no microwave, small bar fridge, hotplate you could put your hand on when turned to high, no TV. Internet worked not even half the time. Staff has a great don`t give a s** attitude!
