The wonderfully friendly staff (front desk, cleaning, etc) and closeness to the beach made Hotel Verde Mar the perfect place in Manuel Antonio for me. It has a little restaurant that serves outside breakfast, lunch and dinner; just simple fare along with some good fresh drinks at reasonable prices for that area. It has a friendly wait staff too.

We stayed 3 nights. The Good: The location is excellent, right on the beach, short walk to Manual Antonio, so no need to drive your car. We left it parked at the hotel the whole time. Attractive pool. Helpful, friendly staff. Quiet at night. Clean. Safe in room. The Average: Rooms are aged, no luggage rack, windows don't open, kitchenette...

We stayed here 3 nights at peak season. The area is SWARMING with tourists at this time. After quieter locales, we were a bit overwhelmed. The location is amazing. The back gate opens to the beach, allowing you to avoid most of the craziness of the narrow roads. We were able to walk to the National Park along the beach...

We stayed a couple of nights here and then a couple more at the considerably more expensive Hotel Shana up the road. A very useful comparison. The Hotel Verde Mar is such a great unpretentious little hotel, so quiet and friendly and at a very reasonable price. The hotel had lots of Costa Rican locals staying, always a good sign....

I chose Hotel Verde Mar because I wanted a hotel right on the beach. Most hotels in Manuel Antonio are a walk or drive along hilly, curvy roads, and most on the beach are very pricey. This hotel was a perfect combination of beach setting and great value. The rooms are modest and could use some sprucing up (the windows...

The hotel is located on a beach and it's great. Staff helped me to plan my trip to Panama including calling to the bus station and checking all the contitons. I was unlucky enough to get a room with completely bad view. There were gas containers and large kitchen fan (noisy one) outside of the room :-( There are just...

We switched hotels for the last 3 nights of our vacation so we could be closer to the beach. So glad we did! Kids loved it and was so much easier to run back and forth from room when needed. Hotel is your normal beach front hotel, so not fancy but clean and does the job nicely. Also, nice to...

Verdemar is a very good value for money option. This is not a fancy hotel, but it is just fine and according to the price you pay. Positive: -Excellent location in front of a wonderful beach. So you don´t have to worry about your car or stuff, you will be a step away from your room. -Private parking for your...

I was pleasantly surprised with our find on Verde Mar! The location was ideal for us! The room was clean. It wasn't overly large, but it has a little kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and a fridge. A/C worked GREAT! Each room door is hand carved. They're all a bit different and beautiful. There are nice chairs outside...
