First class. Beautiful surroundings Great food Attentive staff The only suggestion I could make on leaving, was that perhaps the staff could wear Name Badges to help the old and confused traveller . . they were already on order!

This is an eco lodge in the rainforest. It is beautifully built, the rooms are open and comfortable and the food is fresh and delicious. The staff is extremely accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. It is a great place to spend 4 days - hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, seeing nature. Monkeys, birds, sea turtles, dolphins abound. Travelers should...

Thank you for your great review letting people know how it is at Nicuesa Lodge. You covered all of the bases, and we couldn't have done better! We agree with you that 4 days is a great stay -- you don't get to do as much with less. We hope you visit us again!

Playa Nicuesa is a place of beauty, pride, simplicity and tranquility. You arrive and depart by boat. Cabins are simple, beautiful, open air. From our cabin, Peresozo, we heard the lapping waves of the Gulf, animal sounds from the surrounding rainforest. Meals too are simple and beautiful. All food is fresh, grown or obtained locally. Perhaps best of all is...

We are so proud we were able to serve you so well on your vacation with us, and that your vacation was so memorable. We are happy you and your husband enjoyed so many adventures with us and that finally you were able to see monkeys! Our staff reported that you won their hearts! This small property excels in just about everything. While it is a boat ride from the nearest port, the trip is well worth it. Located in the forest, but close to the beach, it is a wonderful, quiet getaway. Nice beach, warm water, great food and staff. I can't wait to return, but it is a bit isolated.

Thank you for your 5-star review and kind comments! We're happy you enjoyed your stay with us and had a wonderful getaway. It's true, we are off the beaten path. Honestly, we like it that way so our guests get the real Costa Rica rainforest experience in raw jungle and pristine ocean. We look forward to your return. :-)

Beautiful spot with great water access on the Golfo Dulce in the Osa Peninsula. Lovely spot to enjoy water activities of swimming, snorkeling, boat tours, kayaking and paddle boarding. The staff treat you like family and make sure you are comfortable and enjoying your stay. Meals are delicious, healthful and emphasize local ingredients and cooking style. The kitchen even baked...

Every guest becomes a part of our family at Nicuesa Lodge. Welcome! We're very happy you and your husband enjoyed your stay with us, and that we were able to help celebrate his birthday with you! It's not a birthday celebration without cake, and our chef was happy to whip up the gluten-free cake for you. Keep sharing our environmental...

This place is just amazing!! Had the most wonderful time to relax, disconnect, harmonize with nature! It takes some time get to this remote place, you need to go to Golfito or Puerto Jimenez and then by boat to the lodge, crossing the Golfo Dulce Bay. The lode is made out of wood, rustik style, rooms are open, so no...

Loved your comments! Wonderful colorful descriptions of how it is. Just a clarifying point to make sure people don't think they'll be showering out in the open -- our bathrooms and showers are partially open-air and protected by high walls and a positioning that keeps your privacy completely. If you do end up with "unwanted visitors" in your cabin or...

We were at Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge for 4 nights. It is a lovely place accessible only by boat. The rooms are open no locks on doors. The service was truly 5 star. The waterfall hike was awesome and so was the boating and kayaking adventure. We were there with two young adult children. As luck would have it, we...

We really enjoyed meeting you and your family during your stay with us over Christmas. We are very happy you enjoyed our vegetarian and vegan meals, and the tours you did. Our staff loves to serve and please. We think one of the greatest aspects of staying at Nicuesa Lodge are the interesting other people you meet. We're glad it...

We went there to be close to nature. And we were not disappointed. The lodge offers at the same time a wonderful beach and nature trails through the adjacent rainforest. You can book walking tours or boat tours. We enjoyed the river tour up the Rio Esquinas, with motor boat and kayaks; the guide knew a lot about plants and...

We thank you so much for your appreciation of both our magical location and our eco-lodge. We've worked hard over these 15 years to restore the rainforest from the cacao plantation and to be sure everything we do works in harmony with nature. We are happy you enjoyed your time with us. And we'll be sure to pass on your...

We only had limited time after a business trip to busy Miami, and we feel so fortunate that we chose a four day stay at the Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge. We are honored and thrilled that for your short vacation to Costa Rica you came to Nicuesa Lodge for 4 days! Especially when you live so far away in Switzerland! Pros A lovely place away from civilization. Cabins without doors and windows - you sleep in the jungle Very friendly and helpfull staff Only a few guest in early season Cons By far too expensive, especially if you book the cabin suite. Humidity all over! Bring plastic bags to keep clothes dry.

Thank you for your kind comments about our lodge and our staff -- we will pass on your compliments to them. It's true it is very humid in the rainforest in the tropics.
