If you wish to be in the jungle surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, not in a crowd, and on a beach than you just found it! We planned a short couple of days kayak trip through the Golfo Dulce and literally found this gem of a resort by rowing by. Lucky us the lodge had room and we quickly...

We love your wonderful review -- descriptive and informative, and capturing the essence of Nicuesa Lodge perfectly. Thank you! Your ending says it best: "the perfect place to end our Costa Rica adventure in style and nature!" We hope you visit...

Nicuesa Lodge is truly amazing. Reservations were seamless, staff were incredibly passionate, attentive, respectful, knowledgeable, fun, and courteous! Food was terrific and they accommodated my vegetarian needs. Communal table for meals and bar were great fun to meet interesting people who were looking for adventure. Grounds extremely well maintained. All of the tours we did were outstanding! All equipment is...

Everything in the lodge is great. Just one negative point: The last day we got an Information from the reception, that they expect a tip of at least 10 $ per day and person. I don't like anybody to tell me how much tip I have to give.

Thank you very much for visiting us at Nicuesa Lodge. We are thrilled that you had such a great time. We appreciate your feedback and we are truly sorry that you felt imposed upon to give a gratuity and a specific amount. Over the years, guests have frequently asked us about tipping staff and how much is customary. For that...

The boat ride into the resort started the adventure - dolphins accompanied us as we crossed the bay to Nicuesa. When we arrived a short 20 minutes later, we disembarked on the pier and were immediately greeted with a refreshing juice drink. We then had a brief tour before being brought to our very private bungalow. Everything was gorgeous and...

The solution to regrets is to come back and visit us again! We promise the mangrove tour is as great as you heard it is. Thank you for your wonderful review and trip tips -- we couldn't have written better descriptions ourselves. We look forward to hosting you again soon.

Stayed here for three days on a tour of Costa Rica. This was the most remote location (by boat only), and it seemed to be the one closest to nature. The rooms are all lodge style with no windows and a net over the bed. They have an upstairs bar and restaurant which serves in one sitting. No problem as...

We offer free use of our kayaks, water shoes, snorkeling gear and fishing equipment, along with unlimited self-guided hikes on our lodge trails to all guests. Nicuesa Lodge was a wonderful place for our whole family. The rainforest is at your back while the beach is in front of you. The outings are well-planned with excellent, knowledgeable guides. The staff is friendly and genuinely engaged with making sure children and adults are able to experience the wildlife and tropical setting. Highlights included dolphins swimming with our...

If you are looking to truly getaway from the "always connected" world and immerse yourself in nature, Playa Nicuesa is an excellent option - an extra step removed from the already relatively remote places in Costa Rica. A short boat ride (~20-30 mins) across the gorgeous, indescribably blue Golfo Dulce, Playa Nicuesa is set back in the pristine rainforest, surrounded...

We recently spent 4 nights at Playa Nicuesa and absolutely loved it. While the location is truly remote, there is lots to do. Our favorite day tour was the river kayak tour which took us close to several crocodiles. We also saw several dolphins on our way back to the lodge. We also loved the waterfall hike. There is plenty...

Thanks for your great review! We love that our lodge is so remote ... it really gives our guests to "get away from it all" and really have a vacation. And as you found, there is so much to do that you can easily fill 5 days. The river kayak tour through the mangrove forest really is special, and it...

We have just left Playa Nicuesa and my only regret is we didn't stay longer. If you want a completely different experience I cannot recommend this Eco lodge more highly. The food is delicious, and I loved the communal eating, especially in the evenings, and there is so much to do. We went fishing and caught tuna and mackerel, early...

We are thrilled that you had such a wonderful time at Nicuesa Lodge! And we are pleased you took advantage of so many of our activities. The Jaguar House is indeed very special for accommodations, right by the beach. We look forward to your next visit, and hope you can stay longer next time. Happy New Year!

Had spend 4 nights over there, in the middle of the rain forest.. so beautiful, so remote, so calm. A very conscious place about environment also delivering messages about the planet.
