A bit unusual to step off a boat into a hotel! But we loved this hotel. Individual huts which were very clean (no windows just nets) were unique and felt very private. Fab pool and bar area. Buffet food was always tasty and the staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay again if in the area. The only things that... More

Great quite place. Very clean and well kept. Food was very good. Staff was very helpful. Would recommend to stay there for 2 nights to get a feel for the place. The turtle nesting was fantastic and the canal tour was very good. Right out of discovery channel. The hotel has a hike right on the property. Lots of birds... More

Aninga Lodge was one of the best places where we stayed in Costa Rica. The rooms are in very nice bungallows scattered over a relatively large area. Rooms are private, spacious and very clean. The service and quality of food at the restaurant was excellent. Resort staff are very friendly and helpful. The guides for the river/canal tours were the... More

Excellent place to enjoy nature. The lodges are great and you will be able to hear the hawling monkeys (your alarm clock!) at about 5.30 am. I recommend a nocturnal walking to the swimming pool nearby. I am very grateful for the very warm hospitality with all my family (wife, 22-year-old daughter and 24-year-old son). We all greatly enjoyed our... More

We arrived by boat through the tropical forest. Remember to bring water shoes, raincoat, and mosquito repellent. The rooms have no television, wifi, or air conditioning but nice large fans to keep the temperature comfortable. There is a wifi spot at the hotel in the reception area for those who need access. The sound of the howling monkeys and frogs... More

Stayed at Aninga Lodge in a beautiful "garden shed"on stilts. Stilts allow ground beneath to soak away the water from the short but torrential downpours, provide a home for giant crabs and spiders that weave webs where silk is almost too strong to break through if you come across it on your path. Stilted walkway join the accommodation to the... More

The location in the rainforest is great, as is the accommodation in the middle of it all. The experience is somewhat spoiled by the very Touristic Experience on offer from the lodge staff. Flexibility is low, you are expected to follow the program they set for you. And you are chided if you want a more individual approach. Not showing... More

I forgot to take out all my money (a substantial sum as I was scheduled to spend another three weeks in Costa Rica) from the safe in my room before checking out. When I realized what I had done, we were halfway on our way back to San José. The staff were exceptional and very professional in dealing with the... More

Lovely buildings with a very good sized room. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The food was plentiful but of only a moderate standard. Its closeness to the water was good. Good swimming pool. The walk through the grounds was interesting.

We loved it here. Great to walk along raised pathways to our own spacious cabin in the trees. No window glass, only mesh in the windows, but at night with a ceiling fan it was great to feel the breeze and hear the night animals. The restaurant Buffett was good. The pool was lovely. It's position on the waters edge... More
