This place is Awesome. The rooms are impressive, exactly what we wanted to be in tune with Nature. Except the Howler Monkeys at 5 in the morning, lol. The restaurante is great. Food is lovely but the waiters are even better, always ready to please. What really makes this place amazing are the staff. Costa Rica Expeditions runs this place...

Dear John B, It's great to hear that Tortuga Lodge turned out to be exactly what you wanted. I know that the first morning the sound of the Howler Monkeys barking will often make guests sit up in bed and wonder about the size, proximity and disposition of whatever is make that noise! I hope that the rest of your...

My wife and I stayed at Tortuga Lodge & Gardens for most of our honeymoon. The staff was very friendly, the food was amazing, and the whole place was a paradise. My wide and I hated to leave after staying an entire week and we look forward to returning on the future.

We had a delightful stay at the lodge. We arrived by a small plane from San Jose, and a short boat trip from the landing strip to the lodge. The lodge is clean and comfortable, and provides a great base for walks in the tropical rain forest, nature trips by boat, and kayaking. The staff who work at the lodge,...

I can't write a full review as we never got to this hotel. I would like to commend the staff however for all their efforts to contact us, (by email and phone) to tell us to turn back, despite how busy they must have been evacuating the hotel because of hurricane Otto. I hope that everyone there is OK and...

Dear Michelle137, Thank you for your thoughtful review. Fortunately there were no damages after hurricane Otto. Although Tortuguero did experience Otto's effects, there were no damages. Our staff returned to Tortuguero yesterday, all safe and sound. We opened the lodge again this morning. We hope that your vacation was not too heavily impacted by Otto and hope that you will...

Costa Rica with Pura Aventura. Our agency in the UK advised us this would be a busy place and it was! Stayed here for 3 nights in a jungle lodge. Amazing experience surrounded by the jungle. The lodges have mesh not glass for windows and the sound of the jungle is all around as you drop off to sleep. Room...

Dear Leakyh, It sounds like you were a perfect fit for the lodge. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the peace and quiet, the wildlife, the rooms and our tours. The most popular Costa Rican breakfast is called " Gallo Pinto", literally "Painted Rooster". This rice and beans ensemble is often served with scrambled or sunny side eggs, fried...

We (family of 5 with children aged 15, 12 and 8) loved everything about Tortuga Lodge itself and the tours they organised for us. All were amazing but one in particular was incredible; we did the night-time boutique turtle nesting tour and were lucky enough to see a Green Turtle dig her nest in the sand, lay her eggs and...

Dear Sally M, I was just at Tortuga Lodge and your Naturalist Guide, Willis Ranking, told me about your amazing experience. Seeing jaguar is very difficult, but getting easier in Tortuguero, especially during turtle nesting season. There are videos and photos of them crossing the river or sunbathing on a tree trunk. It's so nice to know that the population...

Many good things have been written Aboutaleb this lodge, which I confirm. But one cannot point enough at the merits of the restaurant . After travelling 3 weeks through Costa Rica, for me this is the best. The snack menu, one item out of the lunch, a la carte for diner, all was fine, and the wine raisonnabele priced. Congratulations...

Dear bbb05, We are honored to know that you found our food to be the best food you experienced during your 3 week to Costa Rica. Especially since you came all the way from Belgium! Our food is what a Costa Rican grandmother would cook if she were also a creative and contemporary professional chef. Our menu's and prices are...

Every detail at this lodge is top notch. We were somewhat concerned about the lack of air conditioning, but were always very comfortable in our second level room. Our room, the grounds, pool area and restaurant were all immaculate. The staff is friendly, polite, and very helpful. I went on two river trips with Willis, whose ability to spot wildlife...

Dear jessicagilboa1, Guests use your exact words often, Paradise! I think the thing that really gets to the heart of it is the peace that is felt at the lodge.
