Tortuga Lodge & Gardens was SPECTACULAR! Out of the 3 places we visited in Costa Rica this was by far my favorite! We did so many activities including a guided boat tour, kayaking, fishing and nature walks. The food was super delicious and they catered to honoring a gluten-free selection to one of the members in our party. The staff...

The lodge was nice. Of course being in the rainforest, bugs can't be escaped. Make sure to bring bug spray and to take it with you all the time. The food was great but more over the staff was excellent. They made sure to help us with anything we asked ....

Dear Aneeta P, You're right, it's a good idea to bring bug spray and to keep it handy. But don't worry if you forget it, we have it at the bar and at reception all the time. We usually don't have to worry about bugs at the lodge, but if you go to the gardens it's very buggy and you...

We recently spent four wonderful days at Tortuga Lodge, and couldn't be happier with our experience. The lodge is immaculately maintained, everything is beautiful and clean, and the food was fantastic. They arranged wonderful tours and activities for us, and the entire stay was worry-free. We saw howler monkeys, sloths, a wide variety of lizards, beautiful birds...it truly was a...

Dear Andrew J, We are delighted to hear that you fully experienced the magic of Tortuguero and Tortuga Lodge. It sounds like your family was a great fit for us. Thank you for sharing that you never worried about your daughter’s life threatening allergies while you were here. We take this very seriously and have trained our staff and kitchens...

We spent 4 nights in a 2nd floor Riverview suite, arriving New Year's Eve. December thru January is the rainy season, with heaviest rainfalls at the end of December. So, staying in a larger suite was definitely worth the extra money. All rooms offer a view. Our room was furthest away from the restaurant and reception areas, so we could...

Dear Mozart S, We are delighted that you were such good sports about the rain. The whole country was affected by the same cold fronts that have been hitting the US and as a result we had much more rain that usual on the Caribbean. One thing I think it's important to clarify is that we are not a luxury...

We stayed at the Tortuga Lodge for two nights; I wish we had had more time there! The location is so beautiful, the touring staff (all the staff really) and the food was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed the expeditions we went on. We will definitely be returning there!

Dear nicolemfoos, Thank you so much for taking the time to share how much you enjoyed Tortuga Lodge. I know that you were doubtful as to whether or no it would be a good fit and I'm just thrilled that you would have liked to stay longer. We recommend 3-5 nights at the lodge. This gives you time to do...

We stayed at Tortuga for 3 nights, but wished our stay could have been longer! The service from the lodge staff was top notch from our arrival at the airstrip to our departure by boat. Natalie was a great guest service rep and we felt very well taken care of in her hands. The tour we took was a boat...

Dear eastermanni, I think you did a great job of summing it up, I'll just add a few things. If you don't need/want to have a TV, air-conditioning, background music, mini bar or glass in your windows. AND You will be delighted by the sounds of the rain forest and it's creatures, even if that means waking to Howler monkeys...

Our family of four spent 3 nights at Tortuga Lodge and absolutely loved it! Our children, aged 8 and 11 years old, enjoyed every minute. We arrived by plane (the "airport" is literally across the water from the lodge) and took the complimentary 2 minute boat ride over to Tortuga. Our first floor room was gorgeous - windows on 3...

Dear 403Melissa1971, Wow, you really made the best of your time at the lodge. I see that you stayed 3 nights, we recommend 3-5 nights because it gives you time to really dig in and experience the wildlife, the park, trails, villages and of course rest, hang out at the pool and don't forget the hammock outside your room. Recently returned from Costa Rico and one of the highlights was visiting Tortuguero and staying at the Tortuga Lodge. Wonderful accommodations, excellent service and a fun location.
