Atmosphere The atmosphere is peaceful, the restaurant is facing the canals of Tortuguero. The tables are spacious and not to close to each other so you don´t get the feeling the place is crowded. Food The food is a bit disappointing, my dish was good quantity and nicely presented although my meat was not fresh. It tasted like it had...

The staff was friendly and helpfull. A real family feeling. The rooms in a beautiful wood. The best rice and beans in all of Costa Rica. I recomend the canoe tour through the national forest! There is some great history here as well. Beautiful sunsets!

We stayed at the hotel for four nights. The location is fantastic, having large gardens and great views. On one side of the garden you can lie in a hammock by the cannal and on the other side you walk two minutes onto the Caribbean beach. The national park was also within short walking distance. Rooms were clean and comfortable...

we choose this hotel because we saw in lonely planet a good review about the food. the rooms are very basic. and the food , which was expensive compared to other places we ate in costa rice was very salty. the woman who is managing the hotel (the duaghter of miss junie), was not very welcoming, nor very helpful. the...

Very, very nice afro-carribbean family ran the hotel/restaurant. They were so helpful in organising 3 trips for us. The rooms were impeccably clean and the staff friendly. Eat at the restaurant twice for evening meals, and both times we had excellent food. Brilliant waiter called Carlos helped us throughout our stay! Only reason I havent given it full marks is...

We stayed in this lovely hotel in the beginning of march for one day and we had a little disappointment that we did so much thing in Tortuguero so we didn't had the time to stay in our room and enjoy the lovely room and setting. Wood is everywhere in rooms and the hotel, so if you like the style,...

We stayed here for 1 night as we arrived into town late. The cheapest room they quoted was $50 though I now know that other paid $40 for the exact same room! The guy serving us on arrival was rude and whilst I was trying to make my reservation a group of 4 old french tourists wandered through the gate...

You can google "Karla tortuguero private guide' and you should get her simple web page with contact information. She was incredibly helpful with planning other segments of our trip, too. Don't miss the private canoe tour with her! Her family's place Miss Junies was totally charming and a solid value. You won't regret it.

Nice little complex. Can walk to the beach as it runs along behind the complex. It means people from the beach can walk through if. However, they have guard dogs. Room are very sweet, with dark wood and lovely animal shapes left on the bed with the towels. Walls are very thin though and you can hear all neighbours. Great...

The only access to this exciting area of Costa Rica is by a 90 minute open- boat ride. Don't let that discourage you because the trip is a great introduction to the flora and fauna of the region. Upon arrival you will be greeted by villagers eager to escort you to a hotel. We did not have reservations so we...
