I was 3 night in these place and it was great very clean, good service and it was in a very good location of the town. The first night we stay at another place that it was really not good, it was cheap, but for $10 more we stay at these other nice place and the breakfast was included.

We stayed at Miss Junie's with a group, and our local guide throughout Costa Rica was Clode- Miss Junie's son- so maybe this added some "touch" to this place- we heard stories about this place when he was a child and all about the turtles, on the atlantic beach behind the lodge. It's a great location, nice, good food and...

Great location and well kept grounds. Priced right. Don't expect a Hilton but comfortable with a good breakfast and an overall great experience. Pack light as it's a bit of a hike to the boat dock which is your most likely route to the rest of the world. The river ride in just adds to the experience and maintains the...

Miss Junie's was a very special exxperience.Although when we were in Tortuguero earlier this month the weather was unusual for the dry season (it rained a great deal) we were very comfortable at the hotel during our 10 day stay.Even when the rain poured down and the surf pounded it was very relaxing. The gardens were beautiful and there were so...

This is a great place for the price you pay. If you are coming to Tortuguero by Air then the boat taxi drops you right at the entrance(10 min Taxi-boat ride). If you plan to come via road and then boat, the docking station is a walk from the drop off point. If you plan to stay here then pick...

This was our (5 people) first visit to Tortuguero, CR. I prepared for my trip by reading Archie Carr's "The Windward Road" which provided me with a realistic view of what I might expect when I made reservations for lodging at Hotel Miss Junie's. Miss Junie's originated in the 1950's in direct correlation to the sea turtle conservation movement which...

Miss Junies is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are excellent. The flowers and birds are fantastic. The Miss Junies Restaurant serves the best food in town. It is close to everything. We have been coming to Costa for 20 years (each winter) and Miss Junies is now one of our favorite places. There are lots of things to...

My wife and I were looking for a birdwatching break at a place that had character. This was it. The family that own and run were lovely and could not be more helpful. The wooden lodge stradles the land between the Caribbean and Tortuguero Lagoon. Excellent service, lovely food, spacious and clean bedroom. The gardens provided plenty of wildlife, birds,...

First off, this place didnt accept credit cards when we showed up. This was made even more annoying when I saw a lady paying for something with her credit card the next day. They have all the machines needed to accept credit cards, but for certain transactions they just don't. Breakfast wasn't great, but Miss Junie is nice. Finally, if...

Miss Junies seems to be the nicest place (that we saw) to stay on the island of Tortuguero. It is sandwiched between the channels on one side and the beach on the other with a private path to access. The rooms were clean and quite. The entire place has lovely carved wood turtles and decore :) Miss Junies daughter took...
