This hotel is in a lovely beachside location, really easy to walk to from the riverside of Tortuguero. We enjoyed many walks along the beach in search of baby turtles during our stay. The room was really clean and tidy. There were some ants but the hotel is by the sea so not the hotel's fault at all. I would...

I am currently here with my mother, chilling out on a hammock, listening to the waves in front of us with some chilled out music from the restaurant area behind. Heaven! This morning we saw a turtle hatching and making its trek to the sea, from right outside the hotel. The rooms are cosy and comfy with a good sized bathroom....

Clean and friendly place, right on the beach, good value for money. Good breakfast. The tours proposed by Roberto were very interesting. (Canoe tour in the morning and night walk to see the turtles).A good place to stay a couple of nights. Good value for money. Would recommend.

The rooms are nice and extremely close to the beach and some walking trails. I am giving them 4 stars instead of 3 because of the staff. The rooms are basic which is perfect for what we wanted. The area is kept very clean but the staff goes above and beyond. The receptionist made us transportation arrangements and even walked...

There's two parts to this review; the lodgings and the tours that are affiliated with it. 1st of all, the room was great. We had the front room opening on to beach views. It had a double bed and 3 singles with a large bathroom and plenty of space to store luggage. The two big fans kept us cool at...

I had a love/hate relationship with this place. The location is pretty great because it's right on the beach close to the border of the national park. There are some nice hammocks to chill in and the staff was friendly and overall very helpful. But I had a very difficult time with my room. I didn't see the interior of...

Ask yourself before booking this place what do I expect for $30? The answer should be 'not too much'. And in this case not more than a bed in a non air conditioned room with a shower. Don't be bothered by noise as there are no windows but screens. The night turtle tour comes back around midnight and you'll hear...

Tortuguero is a small village, and one of the most remote places in Costa Rica -- it can only be reached by boat or plane. Cabinas El Icaco is right on the beach... nice to hear the surf pounding, friendly and helpful staff. Tortuguero is a very safe place and you can sign up for a tour to see the...

After our trip with the boat we were welcomed by a friendly host. The hotel is a bit out of the centre of town, but in short walking distance. Thats how we like it. The swimming pool is very small and is at another hotel. In my opinion the swimming pool is not an asset.
