Nice hammock just in front of our bedroom! The bedroom is not really isolated but you have a ventilator and a private bathroom(wich is small but has a shower with hot water!). It's near to the center and the national park. From here you can also book tours in tortuguero with the helpful personal of the hostel. Free coffee but...

The hostess is possibly the most useful that I have come across, able to speak German, English and Spanish, she is very willing to help you plan your trip. The rooms are small but comfortable with an ensuite and each has a hammock on the porch outside. Free coffee all day and wifi. As with most of Central America in...

This place is quite close from the airport, is $10 watertaxi per person unless you are good negotiating with the watertaxi drivers (we were 3, and got a $20 price for all of us), also is in a very good location: vlose to the supermarkets, small restaurants, beach and national park. The place is very rustic, but every room have...

We just spent 2 nights here. We were looking to stay in amongst the hassle and bustle of the town rather than a more expensive lodge. This place is perfect if you are on a budget and just want a chilled out place to crash whilst being on top of everything. 100m from the main dock, 200m from the beach...

The accommodation was rustic, but reflected in the price, so we felt that we had a good deal. The garden and setting was really lovely. The Costa Rican girl who worked there was very sweet, helpful and patient with our limited Spanish - always smiling and laughing!

The location is excellent, you are right in the village, so close to the entrance to the park, as well as to all the restaurants and shops, but the place is not nice inside, it is old, which would not be bad, but it does not smell nice and the overall feeling is that it is not well kept. We...

i am very sorry to review this place so bad as the owner was very very nice, atmosphere also very good and they had very relaxing hammocks but even so, I can't stand having loads of ants going around my bed. I took a picture of the ants on the wall, as I realized I should take pictures after I...

We had a fantastic time here staying at Cabinas Tortuguero. Nehle, the friendly owner, was very helpful in organizing a fantastic canoe tour for us and always on hand to assist with anything we needed including great restaurant recommendations. She has a couple of very well-behaved pets and we particularly loved playing with the kitten. Rooms are wood cabin style...

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. Nice, laid-back atmosphere, down-to-earth prices, friendly staff. Breakfast can be booked separately for $5. Best of all, each room has its own hammock. They can organize and book tours for you upon request. English, Spanish and German spoken.

Not recommended Dirty, old and dilapidated. Smell of dogs everywhere. Not enough towels and the ones we had were dirty. Very slow communication. Only one socket so it was hard to get our mobiles and cameras charged. No fly screen in the bathroom, Woke up with a cockroach sitting next to my pillow. Cracks between the floor boards were so...
