Evergreen Lodge was the first stop on our Costa Rican adventure (me, my husband and five year old). This was a great start. The entire experience is incredibly well organized to allow tourists to get the most out of a place that you can only get to by plane or boat. We had a lovely bungalow with a full and...

The Tortuguero region is remote. Several hours drive from San Jose and then an hour and a half, or so, by fast speed boat. The area is beautiful and a superb experience. However it needs to be understood that there is little luxury available. The rooms are clean but basic, and ours was not the size of those in many...

I was coming from San Jose and after almost 4 hrs by bus and 1h30 by boat, I finally arrived in Evergreen lodge. All the boats were welcome with a cocktail. The resort is really big and nice, they even have their own canopy tour. I had taken a package with Evergreen where food, transports and some activities were included....

I stayed 2 nights and could have happily spent a week here... Loved the setup of individual buildings and walkways within the jungle - nearly everytime I left my room I saw some sort of creature within the property, including capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys, tiger-faced crabs, blue jeans frogs, green macaws, basilisk lizards, a caiman, etc. as well as beautiful...

We had a boat transfer from the main boat hub which took just over 2 hours, we saw some amazing scenery and wildlife on the way When arriving at Evergreen Lodge we were given a warm cocktail, nice touch but needed to be colder! We were in room 18 which is on the damper part of the complex, these cabins...

The transfer from our hotel in San Jose to the lodge was excellent. The room was clean and had everything we needed and the whole lodge was in a great location. The wildlife spotting tour by boat was excellent - our guide was amazing at finding animals we would.never have seen. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain for our walking...

The hotel was a perfect base from which to explore Tortuguero National Park. We took boat tours both in the mornings and afternoons and found afternoon a better time to see wildlife. We saw monkeys at breakfast each morning. The kids enjoyed the two pools. The cabins are basic but very large and absolutely immaculate. There is no A/C, and...

Evergreen was a lovely resort accessible by boat which added to the adventure. Our lodge was basic but very clean. The bed very comfortable and loved that there was no glass in the windows, only mesh. This meant you could listen to the wildlife all the time. The meals in the restaurant were buffet style but tasty. Loved sitting on...
