This is a truly special place. As other reviewers have noted it's not for everyone, but I was utterly charmed. Wanda and Wolle were fantastic hosts—ready with advice and great lively company when I needed that but gave me privacy when I wanted to be alone. Playa Chiquita Lodge itself is quite sweet. There's a big open-air covered patio that...

When we arrived our reservations (for which I had a confirmation email) were listed for the wring days. Fortunately for us, they had rooms available. Owner was not very friendly, except with European guests. Lodge is a bit run down, but not too bad. However, sheets and towels were stained (sheets had blood stains!) Missed breakfast the first morning by...

Only Europeans Tourists are welcome in our place? not really! The owner being from Germany naturally will seem to anyone else that he may enjoy much more to interact with our clients from Germany! But besides being true that communicating in one’s birth language tends to be more enjoyable, he is also known for enjoy conversing with any client that...

Before you read any reviews, you need to know that the Caribbean coast of CR is not the touristy coast and there are many reasons for that. If you love Acapulco, Las Vegas, and Cancun then you will hate Playa Chiquita Lodge. However, if you love getting off the beaten path, then this is for you. Where else can you...

We prefer out-of-the-way spots; Puerto Viejo is nice to be near, but a little too much of a party for me. Playa Chiquita Lodge is in one of the most beautiful, peaceful spots on the Caribbean - set in the jungle with howler monkeys, blue crabs, lush flower gardens. A lovely path takes you to what feels like a private...

WONDERFULLY RELAXING experience!! I felt TOTALLY welcomed & comfortable from the moment I met Wanda & Wolf upon check-in! Great location & beautiful grounds. PERFECT if you want some BEACH time & JUNGLE time & not far from partying & shopping in Puerto Viejo! Just the right blend of rustic & modern amenities for this traveler. No doubt will be...

We stayed at the Playa chiquita Lodge for 10 days. We enjoyed our stay very much and the owners are very friendly and nice. They helped us a lot with tours and everything you could think of. Only one negative thing - it is at bit far away from the party spots in Puerto Viejo.

The location and atmosphere is perfect. Try their private beach at night (bring a flashlight). Very romantic!! Wolf and Wanda even cooked our fresh lobster (we bought them on the beach). The rooms are spotless and the price is right. We've stayed all over Costa Rica and this is the spot we will return to. The road is rough the...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Playa Chiquita and the attention provided by Wolf and his staff. Adorable rooms (my wife loved the sunken bathroom), a perfect, beautiful beach a short walk away, and anything you might need within easy access. We will be returning and would recommend Playa Chiquita to anyone wanting a quiet beach getaway.
