Stayed here with our Intrepid tour for two nights. The owner was welcoming and friendly and we found the rooms to be comfortable and clean. There is good wifi throughout, and a kitchenette with mugs - just supply your own food and away you go! Hot water showers and attractive bathrooms, with mosquito nets over the beds just in case....

The Jacaranda Hotel is located a couple of small blocks walk from the main part of town. The hotel has a lovely garden feel about it. Our room was huge and we had a verandah with chairs and hammock. There was no safe but there was a TV that we did not use. There is also a line to hang...

The hotel is very clean and well run. It's quiet and the ownership ensures that it stays that way with quiet hours which I like. The beds are fine and fairly comfortable. Nice shower and wifi works fairly well. My review is not based on not having AC but a tip is to get a room w AC. Worth the...

I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour group. The accommodation is pretty basic but the rooms are a good size and there is a shared kitchenette with a fridge where you can keep water etc. The rooms have fans but no AC and I found it VERY hot while we were there. The rooms do have...

The hotel is quiet charming by its looks but the owner is a witch known all over Puerto Viejo for her arrogant, rude behaviour. While we were staying there 3 individual people/ couples moved to another hotel as they couldn't stand her. For me, she completely ignored me, looked at me upside down each time I passed by, would never...

Great peaceful and quiet place with a wonderful garden and very contentious staff who ensure the place is clean and safe. Great for people travelling solo and groups. Location is a few roads back from the beach so you can go out and party and come back and have a peaceful night's sleep. Great mattress and quality mosquito net provided...

The front desk is open 8am-8pm, So I was expected to arrive by 8 pm. However due to me taking a bus from San Juan to Puerto Viejo my expected arrival time was 8:30 pm I contacted the staff through email and explained my situation and staff stayed there till my arrival of 8:45 pm ( which I truly appreciate)!....

I stayed for 3 nights during a tour. My roommate and I were given one key for the room and one key for the gate (the entrance gate is locked from 8pm - 8am) so when my roommate went home early one night, I had to ensure I returned to the hotel at the same time as another member of...

This is honestly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I came here as part of an intrepid tour and myself and my room mate were given a room which was like a prison cell. It was tiny, had bars up at the tiny windows, absolutely zero natural light, no air con, the tiny desk fan they had stuck...
