The front desk is open 8am-8pm, So I was expected to arrive by 8 pm. However due to me taking a bus from San Juan to Puerto Viejo my expected arrival time was 8:30 pm I contacted the staff through email and explained my situation and staff stayed there till my arrival of 8:45 pm ( which I truly appreciate)!....

I stayed for 3 nights during a tour. My roommate and I were given one key for the room and one key for the gate (the entrance gate is locked from 8pm - 8am) so when my roommate went home early one night, I had to ensure I returned to the hotel at the same time as another member of...

This is honestly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I came here as part of an intrepid tour and myself and my room mate were given a room which was like a prison cell. It was tiny, had bars up at the tiny windows, absolutely zero natural light, no air con, the tiny desk fan they had stuck...

We spent New Years Eve here. Last minute booking. Rooms were small but comfortable, bathrooms adequate. No breakfast. Highlights are service and the wonderful atmospherre created by the staff, "jungle garden" and Christmas decorations. nice to have porch with hammock if you have time to enjoy it. Locked car parking free.

I loved the Jacaranda. My Bungalow was in the back of the lush garden, it had a comfy bed, mosquito net and Fan, everything clean enough. My room had a small terrace with a hammock, great to relax. I did not use the communal kitchen as I was eating outside every day. Jacaranda has a good location, very quiet for...

Rooms are hot and no air conditioning. Fan is powerful but ends up circulating hot air. Water sometimes was not hot or even warm in shower. Having said all that the staff were pleasant. And the courtyard is nice. There is a kitchen and you can store things in the fridge. The place is pretty secure and there is a...

The one thing that really sticks out to me about this hotel is that they strictly enforced "quiet hours" which appeared to be after sunset. As a traveler, wanting to connect with other travelers, I found it frustrating that management requested that our group could not sit and converse in the gardens. Otherwise, the location of the hotel was good,...

The gardens are beautiful and the room setup good. Some parts of the room are a little run down (shower heads, etc). The bad thing however, is that most of the rooms don't have aircon but really need it. These rooms are designed in such a way as to not lose any heat at all. On nights when it is...

When we arrived at the Jacaranda, Monika at the desk, was very friendly and explained all the necessary information. She showed us our room and stated if we needed anything to let her know and she would deal with it immediately. The staff, accommodations, and location were excellent. We were treated very kindly with any questions or requests. The room...

Tour arranged hotel as part of our Intrepid journey. The rooms were quite small and did not have any air conditioning. After 8pm you are not allowed to make any noise in public areas or you will be told off by Management. The hotel could do with some basic maintenance - e.g. fixing the walls/roof so that water does not...
