A nice and quiet option next to Puerto Viejo's nicest beach, Pizote Lodge offers simple rooms in cottages with basic amenities. The lodge is set on a large property with lush gardens, los of wildlife around and Puerto Viejo's beautiful black beach about 150 metres away (but there is nothing in-between that blocks the view or the sounds from the...

Found this place online for a short, one-night stay in Puerto Viejo with a friend. It looked like a resort hotel that was very happening in the 80's, but was now kind of a ghost town! I think we were the only ones there? The couple running it were super friendly and helpful, though! We were shown to our room....

Dear Guest Thanks for your comments. We are sorry you visited our hotel in a low occupancy dates. maybe the next time will be more guest to share your stay. We have rustic cabins built in wood and, other ones modern built in concrete, those ones have AC, hot water and a basic kitchenette. Best Regards,

I have been in a lot of places and this one is the worst ever! The location is really convenient however the amenities are pretty cheap and you have to chase management to get a towel. The place needs maintenance. Beds are not comfortable and breakfast time is really bad. From 8 to 930 and check out at 11, so...

Dear guest: Thanks for your comments. we are sorry if you dislike the beds and the rustic style of some of our cabins, to most of our customers like it that way. We will review the breakfast schedule to improve our service. Thanks,

El Pizote is a little old and tired but in a beautiful location carved out of the jungle and only 200 yards to the beach. We paid over $140/night for a spacious room but it had intermittent hot water so you never knew what the shower was going to be like. We were given one thin towel apiece each day....

A simple and very affordable place to stay when you are visiting Puerto Viejo. A little bit outside the town but in a distance easy to walk. El Pizote is a big property with plenty of bungalows and a nice pool area. Located in a very calm neighborhood, close to nature, where you wake up to the sound of nature....

A very charming and beautiful place close to the jungle and to the beach. The owner (and the rest of his staff) of Pizote Lodge is very helpful and accommodating. It's a priceworth alternative, the breakfast is tasty and fresh. Amazing surroundings. We will definitly come back.

We traveled into Puerto Viejo and were due to stay at this hotel for 3 nights. We first arrived at the hotel and were delighted by the hotel grounds. The place was beautiful, although many huge spiders resided along the pathways in their webs. The owner showed us to our hotel and when we walked into the room our opinion...

We were due to stay here on an organised 10 day trip round southern Costa Rica. Out of a group of 15, 4 of us refused to stay here and found alternative accommodation. I agree the owner seems lovely and the setting is tranquil, however, I have never come across anywhere so dirty in all my life. The sheets were...

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place, just a few minutes away from the center of Puerto Viejo, this is the place to be. The bungalows are rustic but clean with all the essential facilities. The beautiful property is huge and gives you a jungle feel. The amazing Playa Negra is right down the road, you will be...

We came to this place on the 31st of December after leaving a highly praised hostel in Puerto Viejo, where you couldnt sleep (too many gallos and perros around). We took a bungalow. The bungalow was rustic, but clean with a private bathroom with hot running water. The estate is amazingly big and beautiful. You feel like right in the...
