This hostel is in a nice location, right in the jungle and still just across the road from the beach. Unfortunately, when I stayed it was just me and another girl and we were both robbed. In my case, I was staying by myself in a four bed room and someone got into the room (I always kept it locked),...

I planned to stay at this hostel for 2 weeks, and was comfortable and happy so I extended my stay an additional week. The grounds are beautiful, and the beach is just right across the street. You're close enough to town to walk or bike, but far enough away that you feel tucked away into a hidden spot. I thought...

This hostel is about 2km after Puerto Viejo, you may be able to ask the bus driver to drop you off here as its on the road to the next town. Its a good location, the beach is across the street, beautiful, big and pretty quiet compared to the ones in town. We walked into town, which took a little...

I've stayed at Mi Casa Hostel El Tesoro a number of times (I often stay at their San Jose hostel) and have always had a good experience. The hostel itself is average. The rooms and grounds are reasonably clean and its got a great location very near the beach. It is a bit out of town so if you're not...

We were staying two nights at this hostel. The rooms were a bit dark and ours had a bad smell when we tried to use the fan. Exept for that it was okay. You could get drinks and mexican food from the "tasty waves" right next to the entrance and the beach was just across the street. The bar offers...

Mi Casa’s El Tesoro hostel in Puerto Viejo is actually in Playa Cocles about 2 km (1.2 miles) down a flat seaside road south/east from Puerto Viejo. It’s away from the life of Puerto Viejo and right across the road from the stunning Playa Cocles, an endless strand of Caribbean paradise. Location. Location. Location. (See photos) It’s a simple place,...

The series of cabins and the gardens make it quite pretty. Don't take room 3 - the bathroom is way too small! I don't even know how they managed to install a toilet in such a small space. Beds are nice. Refrigerators in rooms. You need to ask for a fan but it does cool down at night. They seemed...

Thank you for everything! Our groups' stay at El Tesoro cabinas couldn't have been better. Manuel in particular was so attentive, and fantastic at helping us with any need we had during our stay. Can't thank you enough, and would certainly recommend staying here for both the kind hospitality and excellent location!
