I had a spectacular stay at Cabinas Guarana in Puerto Viejo. For one week I traveled alone on the Caribbean Coast and I spent six nights at the Guarana. The owner, Paolo, is truly a sweetheart. He was very kind and welcoming, as were the rest of the staff-- Alma and Noemi. Everyone that I came in contact with was...

Traveled here solo last summer and was happy I booked Cabinas Guarana. The staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were spacious, with high celings and large ceiling fans that really worked well in place of A/C. No hot water in the showers, but who wants hot water when you're in Puerto Viejo in June? Rooms were about $32 per...

Hotel Guarana is a wonderful place to stay ! I think is the best option to stay in Puerto Viejo village. I stayed there in June and had a great time! The owners are more than helpful , very , very friendly guys and the staff are knowledgeable and always happy to assist with information and recommendation. The decorless rooms...

M boyfriend and I stayed at hotel guarana for two nights while staying in peurto viejo. When we arrived they only had a room with two single beds available, but we needed a place to stay and were very tired from travelling so we accepted. Our room was nothing special, it had a cute porch with a hammock on the...

We apologize for charging , a total or partial discount was fair and appropriate. That day I had to live , such mistake happened for lack of communication , since our receptionist is not allowed to make discount. If I was there , I would have been very happy to charge nothing. But , from the other side , you...

PV is intensely unintense, so one needs a retreat like the friendly, comfy, coffeed Guarana Hotel. We found it clean and safe as well as lush and colorful and reasonable. Met interesting folks including the Italian owner. The location is quiet but convenient. How do I get back?

The stay was very relaxing and comfortable. It rained most of the time we were there, but that was alright, as the lobby is set up for study or being on the internet. The room was clean, and being able to use the kitchen anytime I needed was great. I am an early riser, so I was able to have...

We arrived in Puerto Viejo without any plans, and we stumbled across this lovely little hotel. We were very pleasantly surprise. Once you enter the courtyard it is almost like you have been transported into the middle of the jungle. All of the rooms are situated around this lovely courtyard and from our little veranda we couldn't see another sole....
