We had never been to the Atlantic Coast and fell in love when we visited Cahuita and Cabinas Iguana this January. It is a perfect combination of rustic, safe, clean and in a great, off-the-beaten path location! We brought our three teen to young adult sons. They loved it, too!

Just coming back from it ( November, low season), paid a really good fare. Access to the pool, five minutes from the beach. Sophia offered my friends and I a coconut and a few bananas as a welcome treat.. Nothing to say except " amazing place & service"..

Cabinas Iguana are situated a 15 minutes walk away from Cahuitas "center" in a very quiet (except for some howler monkeys...) neighbourhood. The cabinas and the centrally placed pool look as if they were built into the jungle. From the doorstep of your cabina you can see (if you keep your eyes open and are a bit lucky) poison-dart frogs,...

Agoutis and turquoise dart frogs in the garden. A very clean and nice pool. Lovely staff. Shared bathroom are worth the value. Also a bit calmer than staying in town but just a 15 min walk in to the restaurants. A great place to stay while in cauhita!

Very nice and clean cabinas surrounded by palmtrees. The pool is great. We saw there a lot of animals, monkeys crossing the garden, really great. It is just a few minutes from the nice beach. Restaurants and Bars are nearby. The owner is very helpful and friendly. We surly will come back.

We really enjoyed our one night at Cabinas Iguana. Most of the budget guest houses we stay at have concrete walls, so it was a real pleasure staying somewhere with fragrant dark wood paneling, built in shelves, and a mosquito net. Our shared bathroom was reasonably clean, as was the shower. There is a BEAUTIFUL clean pool and an extensive...

We did our yearly family trip and enjoyed this place. It was hard to find from the bus station since we did not know where we were going, lol. The owner was informed and came to our rescue! I went with my wife, 4 kids ages 15, 10, 9, 1 and my mom. We loved the cabina that we stayed...

A quiet retreat for independent travelors, but only 3 blocks from the beach and a half a mile from the center of Cahuita. The owners were generous, friendly and excellent managers for this lovely group of cabins in a tropical garden.

Nice, clean family-friendly place. Seems a lot of costa ricans stay there. We, however, were told by everyone after we arrived that it wasn't safe to walk to and from town (it was a 20 minute walk) in the dark and it was not easy to get a cab since cahuita is a pretty quiet place. (we are two women)....

We stayed 3 nights in a bungalow at Cabinas Iguana, and it was excelent. We stayed in the main bungalow there and we liked having our own facilities to use in the bungalows. The situation is perfect; right by the Carribean and only a 5 minute bike ride away from the town centre and the national park. They don't provide...

“There are only a few cabinas here and they are very popular so you'll probably have to take what's available, but they're all good value. Only the largest has cooking facilities. Most of the others are similar to the one we stayed in, except for three cheaper rooms together with shared bathroom.”
