My husband and I relocated to Costa Rica over a year ago and have spent countless weekends exploring this splendid country. There are few places in the guide books that we haven’t visited and time and again, we find ourselves returning to Cahuita to take pleasure in the laid back Caribbean atmosphere and enjoy a welcome respite from our day...

Alby Lodge is a private piece of PARADISE! The gorgeous garden that surrounds your bungalow is full of tropical flowers, greenery, and fruit trees. Alby Lodge has the BEST garden is all of Cahuita, everything is so lush and green with brilliant colors shinning through. Wildlife abounds, from the groups of wild Howler Monkeys, to Sloth, lizards and tropical birds;...

On our recent trip to Costa Rica, my boyfriend and I stayed four nights at the Alby Lodge. We loved it! It was just out of the way enough to be really relaxing, but we loved that we were only a five-minute walk from the beach and less than ten minutes' walk from all the restaurants in Cahuita. We found...

We found this place to be a unique stay. The accomodation is in private huts on stilts in a well-kept garden. Blue crabs like to dig burrows below the huts! The hut we had was comfortable and clean but a little worn. The room contained a double bed and 1 single, both with mosquito nets, a safety deposit box, bedside...

Yvonne and Thomas were wonderful hosts during our stay at Alby Lodge. The cabinas were exactly what we expected after reviewing their website and other travelers' recommendations. The kitchen was clean and well-stocked. The property is amazingly maintained and they are working on new projects to continue to develop the beautiful grounds. The property is also on the edge of...

We arrived in Costa Rica with nothing but a map and a rental car. On a whim we traveled to the Carribean coast first. Using our trusty Lonely Planet drove up the crappy gravel road to Alby Lodge and fell in love. Over the next month we stayed in places costing between $20 and $800 but fell in love with...

This was a perfect place to stay in Costa Rica. The howler monkeys and other exotic birds were just outside our window. Very Cool! This was our favorite place to stay on our many trips to Costa Rica. We loved that you could walk along the jungle and that the jungle was so close to the ocean for a swim....

The Alby Lodge made out trip to the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica one of the best travel experiences I have ever had. Four private bungalows dot an exquisite garden whose every bush, tree, and flower was planted by Yvonne, the colorful owner of the lodge. The large communal kitchen was convenient, well-stocked and clean, the bungalows were charming with...

We enjoyed our stay at Alby Lodge. The grounds are beautiful. The accomodations are great for those who don't mind sharing their time with nature. We had many geckos in the hut with us, found a crab in the toilet, and I loved the howler monkeys that visited twice a day. The town of Cahuita is laid back and low...
