A great little hotel! From the moment you meet the effusively friendly Jose Omar (who my kids thought looked like Tom Hanks from Forrest Gump) and his delightful mother you will feel welcome. We stayed at both the upstairs 2 bedroom apartment and a first floor guest room. Jose puts out a generous breakfast of Britts coffee, extremely fresh tropical...

We (my parents and I) stayed at Hotel Hojarascas in june/july 2007, and our overall experience was extremely positive. We stayed both in the apartment and in normal rooms, and everything lived completely up to our expectations. We felt completely at home and had unlimited access to kitchen, washing machines and Internet. All the rooms very super clean and very...

A gem in Heredia Our family (2 adults, 2 children) recent spent the 1st and last nights of our Costa Rica trip at Hotel Hojarasca, a clean, comfortable family-run hotel in Heredia. We were very pleased with the warm welcome when were picked up at the airport the first night. We stayed in the large space for family, which includes...

The family that runs this little place are the sweetest people. They provide computers with internet, free laundry, and kitchen usage. I really felt like a daughter of the house, but not in an intrusive way at all. The owner took us back and forth to the airport personally, made us fresh juice according to our particular preferences, and just...

Really a great place. Perfect spotless rooms, great spreads for breakfast, and a super-friendly family, all in a town that is way nicer than San Jose. The price might seem steep if you are on a budget, but with all the perks (free internet, laundry, airport transfer, family atmosphere complete with grandma who kisses you before bed) it is a...

On my recent trip to Costa Rica that was filled with weather delays and airline hassles, it was a pleasure to experience a night in this hidden gem of a hotel. Jose Omar and his family (only family run this hotel) went out of their way to make my visit comfortable. As an example, when I finally gave up trying...
