Owner Omar served great breakfasts. He always offered great Costa Rican food choices - papaya, pineapple, bananas and mangoes. He served intriguing variations on Costa Rican breakfasts. The staff are Omar's relatives so guests need have no concern about the safety of items left in rooms. His motto is 'mi casa es su casa' - my home is your home....

My husband and I picked Hotel Hojarascas based on its location and reviews. We enjoyed our stay. It is really more like a B&B than a hotel. The pros: 1. The owner. Very friendly and welcoming. We felt he would be a friend in need, which fortunately was not necessary. 2. The cleanliness-- a spotless place. 3.The home-cooked breakfast., we...

Small hotel downtown Heredia, from the moment you walk in, you receive personal attention from the owner and his family. They make you feel like one of the family, he cooks breakfast for you that is amazing.

I just spent 4 weeks there while accompanying students on a Study Abroad trip and cannot say enough good things about the hotel and its people: Omar, Jose and Giselle. The hotel is centrally located. You can walk to Intercultura, the main square, buses to and from San Jose, restaurants, churches, shops, etc. However, because it is in the center...

We went to this place about 2-3 years ago. The place is super clean and outstanding. The best part is the service you get. The owner is such a friendly guy who will spend all the time in the world offering advice and guiding you. His brother will pick you up from the airport, and the owner will offer you...

This was our second time staying here. We stayed 4 years ago and the place not changed. Jose and his family do a great job of being sure you are comfortable. He is always so happy and it is contagious. I be sure I stay in the room on the second floor across from the kitchen. It has 2 bedrooms...

Omar is a hoot, and he is very helpful. The location is good for a small city experience. Heredia is tipico, not touristic. Neither the airport shuttle nor the breakfast worked for our schedule. So not a $90 experience for us.

I stayed at Hotel Hojarascas for two weeks while I was studying Spanish at Intercultura. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the school and is centrally located in Heredia with easy access to shopping, banks, and parks. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe staying in this small, family-run hotel. Omar is a very welcoming host and...

This hotel is right in the middle of Heredia downtown, so everything you need is near the hotel. About the hotel, I have to say that the service was really great. The front desk guy was very kind and very polite. The room was very clean and it was really nice. It had WIFI, and small TV and hot water...

I stayed at Hotel Hojarascas for a week while studying at the Centro de Idiomas Intercultura. The hotel is centrally located in Heredia, close to the Central Market, Intercultura and the Universidad Nacional, and is only a 15 taxi ride from the San José airport. The rooms are clean and there is ample storage for clothing. The bathroom is spacious...
