I'll start by saying this place in amazing. You will not be disappointed! The villas are scattered all over - some along the roads, some down paths near the beach - all are surrounded by jungle and very private. Ours had it's own pool which the kids loved, but complained of it being too cold. They preferred the main pool... More

The location was great, on the beautiful playa langosta and only a 20 minute walk to the centre of Tamarindo. Staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of opportunities for spotting howler monkeys, hummingbirds and racoons by the pool side. Food and drink was good, although a little pricey.

To say we weren't concerned as we made our way from Tamarindo proper outbound to the hotel would be a lie, but as soon as we pulled into Cala Luna's entrance, all of that was forgotten. The property was beautiful and very well kept. The staff was super-friendly and accommodating! The food and drinks were fresh and delicious (the breakfast... More

We really liked Cala Luna: very friendly and helpful service and our two-bedroom villa with private pool and kitchen was very spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The daily towel animal sculptures were a major hit with the kids. The big shared pool is lovely. We appreciated the included breakfast buffet and ease of getting coffee right away in the morning, as... More

My husband and I just spend 4 lovely nights at Cala Luna. This was our first time in Tamarindo and we came here after staying at an amazing, secluded resort near Bagaces. Needless to say, the bar was set very high but I do think Cala Luna was definitely the best choice for us in Tamarindo. We're 40 somethings, active,... More

While this is a very nice hotel we had one major issue, after we checked out we discovered that our housekeeper stole over $500 in cash from us that was hidden in separate areas of our belongings. Unfortunately management has not been willing to help us resolve this issue and have told us lies about the employees that were in... More

Stayed four nights at this hotel and can't fault it at all. The staff make you so welcome and special. Nothing is any trouble for them and just want to make sure your stay is perfect. The food in the restaurant is first class so many outstanding dishes. Richard makes a great Bloody Mary. Lots of wildlife around the property... More

We arrived having never been to Costa Rica. The rooms were understated and elegant and the staff was unobtrusively there when you need them and not when you don't. We didn't want to leave our new family. Nuff said.

My husband and I traveled with another couple to Costa Rica and spent 4 nights at Cala Luna. The resort was beautiful and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The location is within walking distance of Tamarindo or the hotel offers a $5 per group ride into town. The rooms were spacious and well decorated with unique furniture and... More
