We had lunch and dinner at the Hotel Playa negra restaurant - the choice of salads were not that goody They don't use salt while preparing the patacones... Dinner however was delicious. Try the grilled tuna with ginger sauce! The restaurant staff is really nice, although service is super slow, we waited almost an hour for the food. The hotel...

Buenas cabinas decorated with few objects. Everything is minimalist but you don't need more there. The pool is the right size (but we need more matresses!) and there is a very good restaurant with local and fresh food. The waiters are very friendly and the hotel is located on the perfect spot! Go for it! Pura vida

I'd been to Costa Rica 20 years ago as a traveler and was compelled to come back. The founder of this hotel is one of the pioneers of that early vibe and it's nested in like a sweet cocoon inside Playa Negra Hotel. We are not guests of the hotel but one of the private residences in the grounds. We...

Laid back chill vibe. You don't want to be in a hurry. Great chicken nachos and delicious Margaritas. The Pina Coladas are good too! Vegetarian options such as a black bean quinoa burger. Slow service, but what do you expect from a beachfront surfers lodge & hang out. Nice pool. Very chill. Fun!

Great low key place with almost an African architecture. The rooms are beautiful with artistic vaulted ceilings and curved walls. We were two couples travelling so got the one unit that was really two units connected by a kitchen. Clean and well maintained--great decks and hammocks. Grounds are wonderful, as is the location by a beach. Great surfing right in...

Excellent food & highly educated employees Worth to stay surfing location Lack of infrastructure air & wi-fi But this was not an issue to not stay at Playa Negra Hotel in Costa Rica. It was a pleasurable time spent at Playa Negra Hotel , great pool area and Yoga sessions in the morning is a must.

This place has the best location you could ask for if you want to sit in the open air breezes overlooking a surf beach. Really nice servers and the beer is cold. The food is good, nothing spectacular, but not horrible- just a bit on the expensive side but you're paying for the view I'm sure. Not a lot of...

This little cabins are in the middle of nowhere! Sorrounding by trees! A 2 minute walk to the beach! If you are looking for a peaceful place! This is it! The cabins are practically in the front of the beach! A beautiful view, but the beach waves are big! So you must know how to swim as no life guard...

Wonderful experience here just last week! Eight of us went as the ending of a 30 plus year reunion. The staff was very hospitable, restraurant food fabulous and room very comfortable. If you are looking for the ultimate "comfort and luxury" vacation, this is Not your place. We wanted something Rustic, more authentic "tico" on the beach. And that's what...

I booked this place last minute. We were staying in a house down the road from here. The Hotel was our go to for lunch or board rentals. We loved being here so much we extended our stay one extra day and stayed here. Raymond took our reservation the day before, our unit was ready early next morning. The place...
