Air condition , flat screen TV, Internet, consistently hot water in the shower( not like other hotels) all in great condition. Rooms kept very clean! Delicious choice of breakfast is included !Exceptionsly close to the beach 2 min walk and very central...

It had been two years since our last visit to Casa Esmeralda & we did not know it was under new ownership. It was great before & now it's even better. Owned by a very gracious & caring husband wife team, they consistently prepare delicious local dishes. The seafood soup with a crisp lettuce & avocado salad accompanied by a...

I viewed 5 hotel properties all in the same price range before choosing the Casa Esmeralda for a 6 night stay in the rainy season. It was very quiet during my visit, the rooms are situated above the restaurant. I would imagine during the busy season there would be a little more noise generated from activity below. The rooms are...

Casa Esmeralda is one of the few budget price hotels in Samara with air conditionning which makes it a great choice. The room was not very large but the disposition of things made it practical. The included breakfast served by Alex was OK with a few choices. It is a friendly, no fuss hotel with a very young staff.

My wife and I met Ramon while eating at Rancho Elena in Hojancha. Came to find out that he was the chef and owner of Cafe Esmeralda where we were staying in Samara. We decided to stop by for dinner tonight and we were not disappointed--the food and service was top notch. They have local cuisine as well as traditional...

My sister and I finished our trip at Samara. We were there for two days and out of all the places we ate at, this place was by far the BEST. The cook is AMAZING and if you are a seafood lover, she prepares all seafood perfectly. The other restaurants we tried at Samara Beach were not good for the...

I arrived in Samara around noon and checked four different hotels in the $50.00 price range but all of them, except for Casa Esmeralda, had dark rooms that smelled awful with the humidity of the rainny season. The smell was so bad that I could barely see the room properly. I was super relieved when I found Casa Esmeralda's nice,...

The owners of the Villa we rented in Playa Samara said this was their favorite restaurant. We now know why. Great food, great service, strolling Mariachi's....all made for a great night. Tow big families in our group so we had the upstairs dining room to ourselves. very nice.

We visited Casa Esmeralda twice during our stay in Playa Samara. The food was so tasty the first time that we had to come back the second night. We even brought in our own fish and the chef/owner was nice enough to cook it up for us in a variety of ways for a very reasonable price. We recommend the...

The hotel is very clean and well kept with all the amenities you would need: wifi, air conditioning, and hot water. We loved that it was small and family owned but our favorite part was that it is just upstairs from the best food we ate during our 2 months in Costa Rica. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious....
