I traveled to Costa Rica for the first time, with my daughter, and stayed here based on a recommendation from a pilot who stayed here a few years ago. We arrived via Nature Air at Nosara and taxi referred by Andrea, we stayed for four days in May of 2014. It was wonderful. We stayed in the 'budget' room which...

My wife and I stayed at the Flying Crocodile for just over 2 weeks. Totally wonderful place, Andrea and Petra are really friendly hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The accommodation and the food was great with a good variety on the menu. They organised our 4 wheel drive hire, although for the first 5 days we simply relaxed...

My husband and I stayed at The Flying Crocodiles for 4 days and we didn't want to leave. I especially loved waking up and having breakfast and coffee every morning. The breakfast is really good - compared to other hotels we've stayed at in Costa Rica. The cook makes excellent omelets. =) The hotel is a bit difficult to find,...

I was there with my 9 years old son for a week of resting, swimming and flying. We found it all in a very attractive setting. The houses are very nice and with lots of carachter. It is a small place so no chaos and stressful scenes: pure relax. Then, if one is really adventurous: fly around in one of...

Our family (two adults, girls aged 1 and 4) stayed here in mid-March for two nights, and very much enjoyed our visit. The hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped, with lush vegetation and paths winding among the cabins making a fun place for small children to explore. There's lots of wildlife to see on the property: howler monkeys pass through each...

It is not very easy to reach, but it was worth it. The staff was very friendly - helped us solve a problem with the rental car and agency. The rooms were large and clean, tastefully furbished. You can find lots of animals in the garden, any time of day or night (we had an armadillo that came to our...

I had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights (wish I would of stayed longer). I had fallen in love with this hotel first time I viewed it and booked many months in advance and it did not dissappoint. Although all the lodgings looked lovely to me the Scarlet Macaw room caught my eye. Two story bungalow with a...

We really enjoyed the flight in the ultralite that is based at Flying Crocodile Hotel. Joerg, the pilot was great!! An amazing experience. So, we decided to stay at flying croc. and the only room available was the budget room as they called it. Not the best choice. The dinner was pathetic, but as we were starving, we ate without...

We had the most awful experience at the Flying Crocodile. The food was inedible, the the bed un-sleepable, the air-conditioning inadequate and the experience horrible. When we tried to check out after the the first night of a 4 night stay we were told we would be responsible for the entire 4 nights bill. When they asked what was wrong...

I stayed during a solo motorcycle trip around Costa Rica, and the Hotel Flying Crocodile was an amazing spot to relax and enjoy the jungle wildlife. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the grounds were beautifully manicured, and the accommodations were perfectly suited for the environment. The detached cabanas surrounded a nice pool in a private yet convenient setting. From...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Flying Crocodile Lodge is nestled in a nature reserve and surrounded by mangroves. Not far away is situated the untouched beach of Playa Buena Vista (about 10 min. by foot) located on the Nicoya Peninsula, 6 km north of Samara. Our Lodge offers ten individually designed rooms, each equipped with a bathroom, air conditioning, fan and fridge. The bungalows are colorful and attractive with attention to special details (inspired by the architecture of the Mexican "Casa del Pacifico" and the art of Antonio Gaudi). We are surrounded by approximately 2 acres of tropical gardens with a swimming pool, where many animals have found their home. The garden invites you to stay, relax and enjoy. Additionally, there are table tennis, table football, pool table and a trampoline. For our younger guests a playground and a children's pool with water slide is available. You will find yourselves well taken care of by our chef, who serves complete breakfasts, luncheons and specially prepared dinners, every day. We offer a complete program of excursions and other adventures you might like, as well as laundry service. Also for group travelers, we offer our full services. We are happy to cater to special procedures and requirements, and also rent out the entire hotel, in order to preserve the calm and friendly group dynamics. Similarly, we support you in seminars, conferences, workshops, presentations, antistress training and much more. It is our intent that we will provide participants and speakers a pleasant atmosphere. Our hotel is connected with an Ultra-Light Flying Center. The experienced pilots offer you a flight adventure of a life time. ... more   less
