We stayed in June 2010, and while we absolutely loved the staff, who kept us entertained, fed, and comfortable, we could have lived without the owners. Apparently they had friends in town, so they were busy, but we chose a small, boutique hotel on purpose, hoping to feel comfortable and attended to. We certainly did, by the staff, but it...

This was my first vacation in years and the trip far exceeded my expectations. The staff at Hotel Bula Bula went over and above to ensure we had a great vacation. Whether it was advice on local travel, good conversation or an amazing diner everyone really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I definitely recommend a...

My friends and I tried several restaurants while visiting Costa Rica but we kept finding ourselves eating at this one for at least one meal a day. Not only was the food the best we had, but the service and atmosphere of the entire place was just amazing. The entire staff made us feel welcome and comfortable the entire trip....

We had a computer and other items stolen from the parking area at this hotel when we were moving our bags from our car to the room. Concerned about our safety, we advised the hotel proprieter that we did not want to stay a second night. He demanded full payment for the second night, even though we had just been...

PG-FT-Resident, Owner at Hotel Bula Bula, responded to this review

As the owner of Hotel Bula Bula, I would like to express how disappointed I was to receive this review full of half-truths and outright dishonest accusations. While it is true that the client's computer was stolen from within her vehicle, the actual circumstances are quite different than what she alleges. Our goals are to provide every guest the most...

Quiet hotel with nice pool, rooms with A/C. Enjoyed breakfast each morning and had dinner at hotel restaurant twice. Portions were quite large. Good food, friendly service. Would definitely return and recommend to friends.

The staff extremely friendly and helpful in planning our daily activities. Some of the best meals I had were at the...

The staff at Bula Bula did a phenomenal job of hosting our wedding reception in March 2010. They were clearly experienced hosting larger parties (we had about 65 people) and went out of their way to accommodate our wishes for our night of dinner and dancing, as well as our brunch for the morning following the wedding. Not to mention...

My girlfriend and I recently visited Hotel Bula Bula in Playa Grande, Costa Rica. The owner, John, is a transplant from the Silicon Valley and the place is immaculate, clean, charming, has great food, and of course, has state of the art satellite HD TV and WIFI. Adam makes a mean pineapple mojito and you can make calls from the...

They are on it. Booked our stay, our rooms and trips very quickly and efficiently. Friendly staff, good food, good location makes them a good value. Only neg is be mindful of petty theft and that is true in Costa Rica.

nestled down the end of a jungle road the Bula Bula is the perfect hideaway for those who dont wish to be interrrupted in their quest for peace, quiet, and solitude. Staff, under the gentle guidance of Felix, are low key, and unobtrusive yet attentive if you require. The walk to the beach is short and the beach itself is...
